Hello, I'm wanting to fit a blow off valve go my Megane but I'm not quite sure on how to fit it or where it goes. Could anyone assist me? I've uploaded pictures to go show people my engine bay..
What are your reason for wanting to fit one? Have you actually bought one? Diesel engines operate in a different way to petrol, so you don’t have a throttle butterfly to create a pressure differential and thus actuate a dump valve. Not sure if you’re aware of that, so apologies if I’m teaching your grandmother to suck eggs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wasn't sure about that actually so thank you for the knowledge you shared Haven't a clue. Need to do more research but they isn't much information out there that I find useful.
well i have a 2.0dci and here a link to the throttle body: http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/thr...ii-bm0-1-cm0-1-2-0-dci-150hp_v19398_g158.html and one for yours as a 1.5dci: http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/thr...ii-bm0-1-cm0-1-1-5-dci-106hp_v18791_g158.html
I've had a look at my engine bay and I've got that throttle body as well. Would that mean I can get a blow off valve?
If it's definitely got a butterfly valve inside then I guess it's possible! It's a new one on me, didn't think there were barely any diesels with a butterfly in the intake. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
When I was cleaning the engine out last year I took my throttle body off it had a butterfly valve in it. Only other issue I'm going to have to overcome is trying to get it all to fit in. I reckon I'll manage it. It'll be this pipe I attach it too won't it?? (Circled on picture) Sorry for the questions, I'm a novice at this specific thing.
