This looks awesome buddy. Hats off to you. Did you prefer the 328i to the 3.0 M3 then it just didn’t get enough time with the 3.0?
The 328i felt more responsive below 4000rpm. The M3 was quicker eventually but you often seemed to be waiting for the power to arrive. I only had the M3 for a year, I wrote it off ( tankslapper into a parked car - truly gutted) I bought the 328i as insurance had gone up dramatically after the crash. Owned it for a lot longer than the M3 so had more time to modify / personalise it. Loved that car and actually preferred it to the 130i - still ended up looking like an M3 though..
Ouch! The 328i looks stunning in that colour. Always quite liked the saloons too. Did you add the M50 manifold or leave it as stock? I put the 3.0 LSD in mine which made a great difference to acceleration as well as obvious handling. Great cars and totally underestimated, much as the Megane’s are actually too.
I didn't fit the manifold , looking at a dyno graph you tend to lose a bit in the midrange. I had it remapped and it produced 207hp/ 221lb ft so it felt quite lively. The chassis was the best bit. Eibach springs/ bilstein shocks and an M3 rear arb meant flat cornering and a good ride. Felt better resolved than the 130i which bounced up and down at the rear!
One more thing about the 328i. The photos above were taken just before I sold the car - my pride & joy etc. Within two weeks of selling it parts started appearing in my Ebay saved searches... The guy stripped it for parts.

I'd love a Holden / Vauxhall VXR8. The Australia V8 supercars championship is my favourite motorsport series by a mile.
Don't confuse the Holden/Ford road cars with the cars raced in the V8 Supercars championship, they bear absolutely zero (& I mean zero) in common with each other, its silhouette racing & basically Australias version of Nascar (complete with the hillbilly redneck fanbase) lol.

Haha, you’d think wouldn’t you. They were second cars thankfully. I still had the petrol vRS at that point which was heavily modified and the best all round car I’ve owned. The 2.3 Prelude was a cracking first car. My mates were all in 1.0 litre Fiestas. I had just joined the army and persuaded my mum to get a loan for me and paid her back. Some of the insurance quotes were almost double what I paid for the car!! Lots of gods drivers cars there, I have to say the 265 is on another level.
Same for me really, my mates had capri's 1.3, 1.6, escort MK2 1.3, Datsun 100a, Fiesta 1.1 L etc my fist car was a Hillman Avenger estate given to me for free, a month after passing my test i was driving around in a Rover SD1 3.5 V8 Manual, had so much fun in that car. Went down hill from there when girl friends came along
That's really sad, the car looks stunning. I started with Metro! - last 2 days and wrote off, faulty steering rack but me in a duel carriage way barrier Metro no.2, - utter piece of crap but i had no money, only lasted 2 weeks, everything that could go wrong did, gave to scrappy. Mk5 Escort 1.3(or 1.4 can't remember) - had for 1.5 years, engine seized but was replaced, written off by another Mk5 escort going into the back of me at a junction. Peugeot 106 Gti - Loved this car, finally a near brand new car when i was 20, bought as ex-demo, had for 9 years! went through exhausts like crazy Pic with it's eventual replacement https://i.imgur.com/sAuYTTk.jpg Mazda RX-7, owned for a couple of years whilst i also had the 106 above. https://i.imgur.com/nMS8Jlg.jpg BMW Mini cooper S, as seen above, loved it when i got it but it was an older one with a couple of issues but still used daily for 3.5 years, hated the hard as rock seats and the centre speedo. Mk5 Golf GTI, Probably the best car to date (sorry meg ), car was rock solid for the 4.5 years i drove it, bought with Revo tune and R32 brakes. At 8 years old it honestly still felt more 'solid' than then meg when i picked it up at 3 years old. (but not to much). Megane RS250 full fat, current car with the basic remap and mid box chop @ 304bhp. Great car and also so far reliable although i had to have the gearbox replaced within the first 2 weeks of ownership but not payed for by me. Pic, old car with new the day i picked up the 250 in 2015, wheels are now gloss black and the paint detailed but otherwise the same (bar remap).
