But will it affect my warranty though?

  1. Good Moaning all, Ive found my Megane to be great in every way... except one
When listening to the music ive found it to be a little underwhelming, it shakes rattles and rolls more than Michael J Fox.
no problem i thought buy a small subwoofer to help the speakers out.
but then a question came to mind... will this affect my warranty?
I suspect the answer is any modification will affect warranty but i just wanted to be sure before i forked out the money.

    cheers
    Matt

  2. How does it connect up? Don't see it being a problem, just remove it if you ever take it back to renault

  3. it would have to be connected to a speaker (most likely a rear one) and have a power lead going through the bulkhead (this was my main concern if they poked around, assuming something could go wrong ofc :tongueout:) - would it be a safer bet to go for better quality speakers as I cant imagine them ripping the car apart to find ANYTHING to get out of a warranty claim, but as bigass red cable going somewhere it shouldnt would be a red flag when they open the bonnet.

  4. I think the headunit is as crap as the speakers, just kinda hitting your head against a brick wall, replacing one and not the other

  5. First time I've ever heard a concern about warranty claims over a speaker.

I think it would be safe to say that it will not impact on you're warranty, unless the fitment can be proved to have directly caused any damage.

What components are you concerned that it would impact in your warranty?

  6. I might be being OTT, its my first car to actually have a warranty so i dont wanna mess it up!!
originally i was thinking a sub in the boot which would involve splicing into speaker wiring and running a power cable through the car and through the bulkhead.
Ive heard stories of other manufacturers voiding warranty because of any reason they can (cos if they can void it they dont have to pay to fix it). - maybe im being too cynical?

but if the headunit is as much use as a bag of knackers then its pointless replacing just the speakers, id need a new audio system and then i would expect someone to notice when the headunit says pioneer and lights up like something out of a fast and furious movie.

ill just have to listen to the 4 pot symphony under the bonnet :tongueout:

  7. He has already explained a cable through the bulk head ect...

  8. thanks guys, sad thing is mine has the arkamys stuff on it.. still sounds shit

  9. I don't spend enough time in my car to warrant messing with the audio system, more than happy with the USB stick plugged in full of mp3s, don't have it above 16 volume, sounds fine

  10. thanks for that mate...

  11. its never been a good system...although good for renault, but not by anyone elses standards lol

  12. try removing the rear seats and all the rest of the stuff back there and sit on a motorway at 70 listening to your choons or holding a conversation by bluetooth....lol, I leave mines off most of the time. Should really look at improving it at some point.
