You really do say things you don’t mean on here......... Maybe I’m wrong here and you think it will be brilliant. Right, bored now. Anymore comments ignored.......actually ignored though.

The car is bullshit. I'm really sorry, but the car is a failure. They forgot what's important. It looks cheap and outdated. maybe it's beautiful in black ..
Cheap and outdated, LOL. Its probably the best looking RS Megane they have done, Proper wide arches instead of stupid stuck on ones. It looks awesome in that colour, really shows off the width of those arches Bet it will be a proper weapon, More so with some sensible tweaks.
We can't really say anything until someone has actually driven one. I personally don't think it looks as nice as the MK3, but it's still a good looking car overall in my view, certainly compared to a lot of the cars out there currently. The wide arches toughen it up and, as Jamie says, it's going to be capable, quite simply because you can't buy a car that isn't anymore. I know some will hate the fact it's a five door, but Renault were never going to produce a three door body just for this model. My Meg being a three door does my head in anyway, so the new one being more practical is probably a good thing for most buyers. I look forward to seeing one in the metal and, most importantly, driving it!
`it's going to be capable, quite simply because you can't buy a car that isn't anymore`... Now this is a very accurate statement. I really cant think of one hot hatch on the market that cant hold its own.
if those 2 piece brakes make it into the production car, then it will be a very first for a hatch hatch in its class. the new honda type R`s brakes having amazing ability, but even this is a one piece set up. If it is standard spec, then its possibly a indicator that its a very focused drivers car if they are going to spend millions kitting them out with essentially a race set-up. Or possibly just a test mule, with big brakes for the Ring ,so they can knock out more laps, before they get to hot. The bell looks very similar to a Auidi TT RS set up.
nope..i remember when they brought out the new Astra VXR. It actually went round the track faster than any of its rivals. just a few silly mistakes by vauxhall like vague steering and big gaps in the power curve let it down. No doubt it was capable.
Have to say it does look great in that silver and black wheel combo! She sits low too![emoji1598] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is probably a term for someone with a 'fetish' for door handles. I Google it but couldn't find it.
Those are not true 2 piece discs. The same discs the Trophy-R used with an alloy bell with a normal disc attached. The Astra VXR had proper 2 piece discs.
Following on from the pics this video is quite good. Getting quite excited by this now! It does sound good! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I still wonder if they make a special R version whether they'll do it in three door as rear door will be superfluous without rear seats?[emoji848] One can only hope! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I jumped in too early with the 250 and bought one early doors (250 cup 2010) I want to wait for a trophy but any idea when a “special-ish” trophy will be out after the original release around April? Also any idea what the car is called....R26/250/265 etc ??
What was wrong with your 250 Cup? They are not that different to the 275 Cup or even Trophy (with the obvious exception of the bolt-ons). The difference between 225 and R26 were more substantial, but not 250/265/275, at 250 they had the sweet point of chassis, suspension and lsd working in unison. These are the key components.
Ohlins, Akrapovic, wheels, stickier Tyres, internal tweaks and stickers. Not saying that most of these things don’t add to the way the car drives, just that they don’t do enough to make a 250 Cup poor in comparison.
Oh don’t get me wrong it’s still mega. And I love the looks I just wish I waited for one of the 265/275 trophies just so I had something a little more special (mainly 275 with akro and ohlins). I actually went down a B road only about an hour ago and pressed on casually and it always impresses me! I really can’t wait for the full review / facts and figures on it! Liquid yellow here I come!
Don’t feel too downheartened, I had a cupped 250 and now a 275 Cup-S (with all bells and whistles). The only significant difference is when you press the sport button to get the extra power. Don’t notice much difference regarding handling (on the road) and I must admit to being a little disappointed with the noise the Akrapovic makes (although only done 8k miles in it, so hopefully will improve). The 250 (with Cup) was seriously good out of the box and paved the way for all of the various iterations.
There won't be a three door. It would be a major engineering exercise to make a three door body shell and just not worth it, especially not for a model built in relatively small numbers. To justify it, each car would cost loads. Most people want five doors and you won't lose many customers if you drop three doors so it makes sense to the manufacturer. It's pretty much only VAG that are still producing them, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the three door Golf is dropped when the current model is replaced. If you want a three door, you need to drop to the next segment down, but they probably won't be around for that much longer in that class either!
I pushed Jeremy at RUK when a trophy with recaros would be available and he said q3 2018. Didn't say whether that's order from or deliveries from, I suspect the former.
So why would they make a car with no rear seats and five doors? Obviously it's speculative as we don't know if they're even going to make a trophy R but we shall see. I have a current trophy and the suspension and exhaust do make a big difference. The ohlins are incredible and with cup 2 tyres the thing just sticks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
