New exhaust

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Jambo87, Oct 31, 2017.

  1. Finally got exhaust fitted yesterday (ktec cat back) and i must say over the moon. Big improvement on noise on combined with the k n panel filter i can certainly feel a difference in pull. Ooooohhhh and the pops and bangs haha especially in extreme mode. So coming soon a trip to rs tuning for pro alloy fmic, bigger injectors and remap.

  2. If you haven't done it already, try taking out the boot floor and parcel shelf then fold the back seats forward and go for a spin. Mine sounds great day to day but when I do that it sounds like a rally car! :sunglasses: Also there is a surprising amount of weight in the boot carpet and parcel shelf combined.

    You don't need injectors.

  4. Yeah I've been told you only need them if you are gonna upgrade the turbo, otherwise they are not needed.

You don't even need them on the hybrid tbh, I know of one making 350 on stock injectors and a 19t

Id be looking at other things before chasing power tbh, Such as sorting the chassis and learning how to use it to its potential

  9. What do you recommend Jamie chassis wise to get it to its full potential

Depends how far you want to go and what it's usage it really. Plenty options but depends on some variables

  11. Weekend only fast road/ track car. What got me into these cars was watching xthilox videos when he had his before he switched to the Cupra, realised it was you on the Jamie fyd video the other day.

As with most things you can spend a lot of money that doesn't make much difference.

Is there anything you would say is a must to be done on these to make them a weapon

Sticky tyres and some camber is what they need. The stock setup is very good. I've ruined mine for the road now and sometimes wish I was still more oem spec lol

  13. Especially your seats which only fit one particular Scottish person ;-)

Jamie's car is a great example of what's possible for the track. I got no idea how he manages to drive it on highways :-D
The standard cup chassis is good. Take it out on a track day and you'll find the things you'd like to upgrade. For me personally sticky tires and brakes were enough.
