2 doors are a pain in the car park...doors as so big it makes getting in and out trickier, maybe weld and filler and nice spray job
Well i think i have solved that problem for me, given my wife the megane dci sport, now i am down to 3 cars, you could try that see which one she wants of your cars
Nah i will stick with my 3 door thanks. The 3 door on my profile belongs to someone else though ha ha
I am going to look at some trophys soon, I am intrigued by them and feel a change coming on early 2018, when there is a lull in track days i will put my R26 up for sale and go down the 250/265/275/trophy route i think. i need to know what the width is at the front from outside edge of tyre to outside edge to see if it will fit on my trailer.otherwise i will need to upgrade that as well
that is so funny...she has the new Mini cooper s clubman estate thing, great little car....she used to have a type s Honda which she loved....this weekend I said I had seen a car she might like to upgrade to...the new Honda type r...she said...I'm not so keen on the Hondas as I really like my Minis now.....if I can work out her current favourite car colour then pop down to the Megane garage and if they have a Megane in that colour I might be in luck.
bugger, trailer change as well mine is either a 2.18 or 2.38....I am guessing 2.18 as yours didn't fit on and mine only has an Inch or two clearance each side.
People got all hot under the collar about the Focus RS being 5dr too but that still sold really well. Those people who stubbornly hold-on to their love for 3dr cars are going to struggle, as there won't be any soon, especially in this segment. Virtually everyone has given up as they're just not cost effective. VAG keep plugging away but how often do you see a 3dr Golf? The more I look at this Megane, I actually like the styling a lot. It's subtle but the arches give it an aggressive look. They've done a good job considering the base car isn't all that great looking. It appears to sound quite good too. It's kept the burble/whistle from the video someone posted of one of the prototypes. Let's hope it does the business from behind the wheel too.
Took until the cover of darkness, but the zoomers have arrived. Not enough power......... Too many doors............ Too Golf....................... Too predictable................... Car looks great, sounds good on paper. I'll test the Trophy when it comes out and make my mind up if it's a worthy successor to the Cup-S then.
I think the main reason they sold well was there were quite a few hoping to make a quick profit thinking there was going to be a demand. no more 3dr's then i might as well keep the 225
You'll be ok for a while, but you'll end up walking eventually lol. There was certainly some of that going on, but it being a blinkin' good car probably helps!
had a trackday at Donington where one of the guys from here and his mate turned up and his mate was in one, it was quicker in a straight line, 3 car lenghts down the straight, but i was straight up on his bumper under braking and through the corners, i then find out his was played with and running 400 bhp and when mine went in for a remap mine was running 230.
A lot of factors on track though. I can do Caterhams on track in my boggo 172. It's about experience and the size of your plums as much as the car. I'd give one a try, it's a great car.
People need to chill with the power angle. Renaultsport have never been about big power and have proved on countless occasion that 'real world pace' is what it's all about. The more I see this the more I like it. I bet it will look cracking in the flesh. The all black wheels version looks so hard. And proper brakes too. Also just saw that it will be available with Recaros too. Amazing! I hope they go wild with the trophy version and create something epic but I understand this is a mass produced car designed to grab sales rather than be an out and out race car. As great as the new type r is Chris Harris had some criticisms so I think we should give this a chance first! [emoji1598] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Loving the look of this meg, and it does sound promising that is will be a handling car as a posed to out and out power. Will be good to see it in the metal.
so I need a new meg RS, a new trailer, an iphone x and a apple iwatch series 3 going to be an expensive year ha ha
Once the buzz about a new orange car dies down and there starts to be a bit more meat on the bones regarding price, weight and spec, people will suddenly realise the 280 bhp Megane will only have as much zip as a cheaper Focus ST. Also big mistake launching a new model and also saying a much better Trophy version is just around the corner. Sounds like the Trophy is the car we should have now and a Trophy R should be hunting the hot hatch crown. All gone a bit soft right now.
The st is comparatively gaudy compared to the renault though, which is nicely styled and has finesse. Also to reiterate what I've been saying, power is not everything and renault have already demonstrated this over the years [emoji848] perhaps if you want to win traffic light Grand Prix then maybe, but otherwise it's not everything. I've hammed a type R from the lights to about 100 in my trophy, and supposedly they have 25bhp more. Go figure? The Megane has superior grip and traction which more than makes up for the lack of power and I believe (or would hope) the Renault have applied the same theory to these cars. Yes a trophy will be awesome but not everyone who buys these cars will be concerned about out and out performance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
