  1. IMG_1002.PNG IMG_1003.PNG Finally bit the bullet and ordered this today. Turbo back CGR exhaust with 200 cell sports cat. Can't wait

  2. congratulation

I am planning to place my order too. Once Paul can sort out the fuelling system for my plan (hybrid turbo, big injectors, intercooler)

  3. The quality of these exhausts look excellent. How much does this setup cost. Are they lighter than the oem exhaust.

  4. Interested in knowing the price for the downpipe with sports cat, can't see that listed on their site

  5. A decat is £250 so I would expect double. I want the titanium system but the 2k price tag puts me off slightly. Do we get any discount off cgr

  6. Epic exhaust is epic!

  7. Sports cat is £405 and the rest of the system is £870, that's the stainless steel exhaust. Still much lighter than standard exhaust. They are expensive but the making of these exhausts are high end quality. Can be tailored to you're own needs in how you want it to sound too.

  8. its a lovely bit of kit, Charlie knows is stuff and goes the extra mile to help.

  9. Work of art. Seems a shame to hide it under the car.

  10. I'm contemplating a CGR full system with sports cat but what I can't get my head around is how you can have the exhaust sound exactly how you want when they don't offer a fitting service.

I'm thinking the scenario would be, turn up and pick up my spec'd exhaust from CGR then off to have it fitted at their recommended garage. Then the next stage could go one of two ways:

    A) Sound is exactly as desired, job done, happy days.
    B) Sound is not quite what you had in mind and needs altering. Where does this leave you? Usually custom exhaust places will then change bits and you keep going until you find the right outcome and this is all included in the service but I can only imagine this could end up very expensive with travelling to and from a 3rd party fitter and paying them each time ?

    What are peoples experiences like??

Sports CATs start at £405 + postage or fitting and can be spec'd how you'd like depending on your needs. Most people go for the standard sports CAT which is a 4" body with a 200 cell count

We do offer a fitting service if you'd like

We have modular jigs which allow us to tweak silencer sizes, material e.t.c at our end without having to see your car, you tell us how you'd like it to sound, place your order and we can tailor it to exactly how you'd like.

We've built pretty much every combination of Megane system possible so we can definitely get it perfect for you.

Unfortunately coming up and us tweaking it while you wait isn't an option as the exhaust systems typically take around 3-4 days to build from scratch (and normally on a 3-6 week waiting list too depending on complexity/availability) which is why we offer every option off the shelf so you can have it customised and bespoke, but without the agro.

What sort of thing is it you're looking for? Feel free to drop us a message or an e-mail to discuss options, we can cater from everything from quieter than OEM to fully neighbourhood shaking

Just a quick note, decats are £220 + postage or fitting, mainland UK is £15 postage typically so £235 posted

We can't offer discount on the Ti systems I'm afraid as the margins in them are practically none existent due to the cost of the material we use and how long they take to build, we can guarantee they're the best you can get though :sunglasses:

  13. Excellent, thanks for the info. Would your 4" 200 cell cat be ok for ~270bhp? Also what's the life expectancy of your sports cat? I've heard of cheap ones lasting sub 24 months before they struggle/fail mot emissions tests.

    Thanks

It depends on the rest of your mods but we've had those sports cats running 400bhp+ without an issue, it would be easier to get to 270bhp with a decat or a lower cell count and/or a bigger body but you will be able to make 270 no problem.

They're pretty tough and built by one of the biggest/most highly regarded sports CAT manufacturer in the UK, it will depend massively on use e.t.c, if you're on a circuit every weekend with a pops and bangs maps then the CAT will fail sooner than a daily driven car that never goes over 3,500 rpm, but we've not had any issues with longevity as of yet.

    Thanks again

  15. When I queried last time I was told you don't really did fitting as it would cost too much due to taking you twice as long as the recommended midlands Renault specialist. I guess the concern would be whilst I could give examples of sounds, my worry would be you'd try to replicate it but not get it right first time.

  16. Thanks again. My car (07' R26) is currently running around 270hp (3" turbo back KTEC exhaust system with decat, 630cc injectors, KTEC induction kit, Forge intercooler, remap) but want to add a sports cat to the system. The car will see a couple of track days a year and is only used as a weekend toy. I'd only expect to cover 3-5k miles per year.
I've been debating changing the downpipe with one like yours, or adding a sports cat to the mid pipe as per KTECs offering. What kind of price would you charge to cut a section out of my current midpipe and weld in one of your cats? Replacing the downpipe would be my preferred route as I could then sell on the decat to recover some costs, but the works/costs involved in swapping it out has me reluctant to go down that route

We do generally send people to Mark as his prices are cheaper, however we do offer a fitting service and do prefer to do it for more personal jobs.

Sound wise there's a certain level of expectancy limitation in terms of knowing what's possible, for example "I want it to sound like a V12" it just isn't going to happen, without fitting a V12. However if you say "I want something that passes trackday limits, sounds great at full throttle but doesn't drone and doesn't sound crap at low rpm when cruising around town" then we can sort that out without an issue, we can even match them depending on whether you're running a decat, sports cat, factory cat e.t.c

Realistically we can't do anything to make it sound like a V8 but we can get the best sounds possible from the Meg engine, there's plenty of guys on this forum and others running our systems, and as far as I'm aware everyone has been extremely happy with their results noise wise and performance wise. We could definitely sort something for you

We wouldn't modify your current mid-pipe unfortunately, like you said it's better off replacing your current pipe for a sports CAT as you'll have a part to sell on and you still have multiple complete parts all working as they should, nothing modified, much better solution.

We can do full systems which fit a sports cat in the mid-pipe and you have the option to have it mounted on V-bands so you can switch it between sports CAT and decat fairly easily, Rich off the forum has this exact set-up

  18. Understood on the limitations but also aware of the massive differences in sound that are achievable. I guess what I'm getting at is I want a CGR instead of an off the shelf say KTR, in order to get an exhaust sound I like, within the limitations.

Ideal world you get it spot on first attempt but I've had a custom exhaust made before and was not happy with it first time and the company amended it to suit and got it right second time and this was all part of the service. What I'm a bit unclear on is exactly what you offer. Is your made to suit exhaust purely based on words before trying or does it extend and include after sale changes if not happy with the first attempt?

CGR have built enough systems now to various spec and requirements that I'm almost certain they would get it to how you wanted it on the first go.

Ill eventually get round to getting one but I'm going to spec mine to have the smallest rear box only possible but with an extra midbox that I can swap in if needed for noise regs etc.
