250 Rs250 flat boot floor

  1. Yet another thread that had good content has now been turned sour by expert negative input.

A trophy, std 275 or cup-s is as 'quick' as a trophy-r out the box, unless there is going to be more schoolboy trump cards quoting 0.01s better 0-60. The mechanicals are no different, the map is no different.

From what I've seen on this and other forums, most folks return their cars to std when selling and sell the 'replica' bits on to others to build their replicas. No modified car will return the cost value of extra work in parts and labour put into them.

If someone wants to spend their hard earned and modify their car to how they want, who are you to say it's better pissing it against a wall.

  2. .double post....removed

  3. And yet another post that likes to try and stifle a different and valid opinion preferring that constant social media backslapping.

A standard 275 Cup is as quick as a Trophy R? Really....... Not point in 'modifying' it then. Definition of what 'quick' actually means is required.

There is a big difference between modifying and going down the replica route. Different approach. Worth discussing.

  4. Ah'ok, I see what your doing there....very clever...

Carry on, obviously nowt to see here. lol.

  5. It also takes two to Tango right.....lol

  6. does that mean I will need to peel off my 30 quid stickers when I sell the car! well I pissed that up against the wall didn't I

yep more drivel from the expert

  7. All I am saying is that if there was an R available to buy I would get one. As it is I have a perfectly immaculate 'regular' Trophy, which by tweaking a little will be in essence the same. I'd rather fit proper Renaultsport seats to it than aftermarket, only for OCD reasons. I also happen to like the red stripes and red wheels but I wouldn't want it to become a 'copy' of an R in that respect so I probably wouldn't do this. However if someone else was to do this I wouldn't criticise them.

  8. I wouldn't buy an R. Waste of money. Anything other than a 250 is a waste of money if you're going to modify them - it's practically the same car

I stuck the bar in and net because:

    - it looks better than just removing rear seats
    - the bar holds the net, so is needed
    - the net means the boot is useful as a boot

I enquired on the price of the parts because it's usually easier just to fit OEM, but the bar was ridiculous. The netting was fairly reasonable, given the aggro to get all the clips lining up and so on

  9. Only reason to get a Trophy R is if you think it's worth it as an investment. And that's dubious.

Same for the R26R, you can easily tweak the R26 or 250/265/275 to get the same pace.

  10. Madness. So with that logic there's little point in buying any special edition car?[emoji848]

  11. Not really, you just have to know why you're buying one. R26R, Trophy R for investment, speculation, collectable, image. If you just want the performance buy a cheap non-special donor car and modify. Easy. Save money.

Plus Renault has knocked out some bum specials. Red Bull Megane - paint and stickers, a special that wasn't special.

  12. Maybe some people just buy a car cos they like it and no other thought process is involved?

  13. Maybe but most consider a wide range of factors like cost for example.

  14. i thought anyone that "modifies" was a poser, you need to remember your previous trolling sausage.

  15. Sensible mods, poser mods. Simple.

  16. And of course we all look to you as the custodian of Superior Knowledge about what mods are sensible and what are for poser value....cough

why have a picture on your avatar of a car you don't own....why not put a picture up of your actual car.....might give you a bit more credibility on here which I suspect you are sadly lacking but constantly trying to convey and achieve
