Winter Tyres, wheels, sizes etc

  1. I am running the 19inch speedline wheels with 235 35 19 tyres. I have a spare set of Steev alloys (which I believe are exactly the same size wheel) which I was going to use for winter tyres. On pricing these beasts I am looking at approx £250 a corner. can we change the tyre size on these rims (8.25J19CH5-65) to something smaller. I suspect I am almost cheaper trying to by 18 inch alloys with tyres. what size of wheel and offset do people run when they have 18 inch, and what tyre size.
These would be for winter only.
I am not lowered and running with the Ohlins (not sur ethat makes a difference)

  2. I run winters on 19s, last time I bought some they were nowhere £250 each ! Try Oponeo or Tyreleader websites, they usually have reasonable prices. From memory I think I paid around £160 for Nokians

  3. The cheapest I see the nokian WR D4 fitted is 206, but will keep looking. Normally run, Conti, Mich or Pirelli though. Do the nokians last? I have also run Dunlop and Yoko winters and they were fine till about 3mm then were like running on glass in the wet

  4. Hi guys, I am planning for some winter tires. I currently run on 19" Steev alloys and I am intending to go for the OE 18" Tibor alloys. Do you know if the 18" ones fit with the 265 CUP chassis, are there any limits due to the brake caliper or suspensions?

    Thanks

  5. Seeing as they are standard figment on the 265 they will fit perfectly...

  6. Yeah the Nokians last pretty well, I was doing quite a few miles a week on them and they were great. Noticeable difference even when it's damp too, just grip better than summer tyres

  7. I've just had a look in Oponeo, £163 for Nokians

  8. I used perelli snow control tyres on the clio, found them really good, I used them 6 months on on the car

  10. I normally order them on the web and get them fitted by a local company, usually a tenner per tyre
