Optimum geo set up for trackdays

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Cazper, Aug 10, 2017.

  1. my R26 is used primarily for trackdays and is running quite a lot of negative camber but I want to get it checked to ensure everything is set up perfectly
Is there an optimum set up of angles etc? Track biased
    Running bc racing coilovers
    STD 225 40 18 wheels
    Semi slicks
    Any advice would be great

Depends on driving style tbh, Everyone suits and prefers different setups.

Id always start at -2 - -2.5 degrees camber and toe as personal preference, As much castor as possible. Some setups need more camber than others due to roll, I know on the Mk3 the guys that run Clubsports run a fair amount of camber as they seem to roll a bit more. Im on -2.5 on AST's at the moment, May increase depending how it goes once i change spring rates and test

  4. Best advice I can give you, is start (as Jay said) on around 2°... Using the word optimum makes me feel you're after true accuracy which to really fine tune you need to be monitoring the wear on your tyres between sessions using a paint marker etc or if you want to get really technical, take a tyre temp gauge and measure the inner/center/outer temps on each tyre.

There isn't, unfortunately, a one size fits all, but using those techniques on the circuit you visit the most will get you to a point I'm sure you will be happy enough with.

  5. Hi thanks
I have a lazer temp gauge (I got it for this purpose but not used yet) to check the tyres which I will take with me next time. I will go by the settings you guys have suggested and ask the guy to consider the wear on the tyres and then tweek accordingly.

Will certainly be a good place to start
    Thanks for the advice guys
