250 Forge Recirculation Valve

  1. Worth going for a Forge Recirculation Valve on a Megane 250?

Currently on a RS Tuning Map which I'm hoping to get tweaked once I get a FMIC and Decat fitted, aiming for around 310-320bhp and 340-350ft/lb torque.

  2. Makes more of a sharper dump noise and alittle turbo stall, depending on the boost, should hold boost better if the standard alittle worn. I was happy coming a nearly new standard valve, just because i want the sharper sounding dump, with out it being too much like a dump valve.

  3. I have one sat in the garage waiting to be fitted, hopefully get it done by the end of Aug

  4. Fitted one a couple of weeks ago to my 265, which has a Pro Alloy intercooler and has a remap from RS Tuning.

Does it make a major difference, no. Was I expecting it to no, but I did it as it's a standard part that could start to fail, so it's one less thing to worry about it.
Does it make a small difference, yes I think so.
    Does it look nice, yes.

In terms of fitting it, make sure you remove the inlet hose at the back of the engine else you don't stand a chance of getting the old part off. Also, the Forge kit doesn't come with washers for their bolts, and the washers don't come off the existing bolts. Finally, due to the fact the Forge supplied bolts have a longer allen head on them, I could only use three of them, and reused one of the standard bolts closest to the engine as you can get a spanner on it, but not an allen key in the new bolt.

  5. I have a forge dump valve fitted to mine running a blue spring, only dumps on full boost lift offs. Lower down i get some nice chatter, sounds amazing through my ITG intake

  7. Thanks all, I've got a Decat and Airtec Intercooler to go on, and going to get my map tweaked to suit - Just thought it would make sense to get one before the map was changed,

Don't fancy a dump valve I don't think, but a mate told me to just put a blanking plate on but I'm unsure of the advantage/disadvantage over a Recirc Valve,

If the Forge Recirc Valve makes a similar noise to standard, I'll be happy - as you do get quite a nice 'psht' or hiss when I come just off boost

  8. you get a fair bit more psht with the forge recirc valve, but nowhere near as annoying as a dump valve, i love the sound of mine

  9. Yeh its a sharper sounding noise, and spring depending, can get abit of chatter.

  10. Love the chatter sound from mine, forge dump valve only vents on full boost lift off but still not that loud with the sound of the intake.

  11. What spring should I be looking at for a Megane 250 running hopefully around 310/315bhp? Yellow or Blue?

Forge give the following rough guidelines:

    'Valve Spring color coding: Green - 5-15 PSI, Yellow - 15-23 PSI,Blue - 23-30 PSI,Red - 30 + PSI.'

  12. I'm running a blue spring to have some low down chatter, only dumps at full boost lift offs. Light throttle lift offs sound amazing with an intake.
Can run the yellow spring at that power i believe with no chatter just dumping sound.
I went stiffer for chatter and to hold boost better.
My car is 300bhp with 343ftlbs of torque

    Just use a blanking plate

  14. Any tips job fitting the Recirc Valve?

Got one and it doesn't look like an easy job to get to this bottom bolt at all! Best things to remove to get access?
