  1. Hi all, I've ordered a set of KW clubsports for my megane rs 250. Am I right In thinking you need shorter drop links?
What are the replacements if needed?
    BMW e46 correct?

    Thanks rich

E46 ones work, bower if be getting adjustable ones to properly set the preload on the arb.

  3. I have Clubsports fitted with STD droplinks & have never had an issue.

  4. Guess depends how lo going as factory fit droplink can push the arb into unwanted areas

  5. Thanks, I'll try the standard ones and go from there.

  6. I fitted clubsports around a month ago now and after looking into this a little more, my arb is around 4mm away from the wishbone. Is this ok? Ride height is 335mm from center hub to wheel arch. I don't get any knocking or strange noises. Would there be any stand out characteristics of the arb not working properly?

  7. Not ideal hence reason folks fit shorter BMW drop link

  8. Standard megane drop links are 274mm
    E46 drop links are 270mm

Surely you'd need more than 4mm difference in the length of the drop link to have the ARB sitting properly, if you're lowering the car 35+mm or is that all that's needed?

If someone knows the ideal length that's needed I could try to find an alternative

  9. I've just ordered the drop links for an e36 m3 which are 241mm in length. These are the right ones if I'm not corrected. My brother fitted these to his e46 m3 a few weeks back

  10. Just be careful when trying to get E36 M3 drop links as there are 2 different lengths listed for them

    31351124380 OE number for 240mm

    31352227203 OE number for 231mm

  11. I've ordered the 231mm

I'd juat get adjustable ones, mean you can get the preload on the arb right. Quite important if doing corner weights as well.

  13. Adjustable links would help but are costly especially as you only need one side to be adjustable cheap way is cut factory link in half and fit threaded coupling nut

I only paid 70 quid or so for mine, if your spending that much on proper suspension then cost of droplinks shouldn't be an issue LOL

  15. The ones I've ordered were £30 for 2 off eBay and came with my bothers kw's for his m3. Happy with that!

I've worked out the difference in dimensions of the new setup to have the same preload in the arb as standard. The 231mm drop links are pretty much perfect with the height I'm running too!

  16. Wow, £30 for two complete drop links, be interested see what state those spherical bearings are like after couple k's on them, I'd normally expect to pay £30 per rod end for entry level Aurora bearings and around £126 each for upmarket Fluro rod ends

  17. RPD charge £36 for 2 which are over priced because they are Renault. These are German made and come with KW suspension.

  18. I'm going to order a set of superpro adjustable drop links £120 from kamracing

  19. Possibly worth a new thread on its own but how do you calculate the amount of preload to have on the ARB?

  20. The reason for fitting adjustable links is that you want NO PRE LOAD at all on the bar when vehicle is flat with its normal occupants load so driver or driver and pax. Put equivalent weight of driver in seat, put car on ramp and rotate the thread on adjuster until there's not tension at all on the bar. Only need to adjust one side, technically you could fit one BMW link and one adjustable link and sell the other.

Aluminati ones on eBay, Half the cost for the same thing and can be made to your specific length, Thats what i have on mine as the Super pro ones where still a little long.

  22. So you would start with the ARB and one drop link fitted and then adjust the other side to suit? Why start with the BMW link and not the OEM link then? How do you decide what initial length to use before adjusting?

  23. There's no fix length per se, because of where the arb link is attached when lower the car the arb dosent move but the chassis and suspension arms do hence reason to fit shorter (BMW) link it pulls the bar back away from any chance of colliding with chassis or struts etc. Fit that first then with car flat and drivers weight in seat fit the adjustable link and adjust so there's no tension at all in bar.

  24. Have you got the link to the other ones? Or are they the same as the 225?

    I got mine via eBay

  26. Are they listed as 225 front ajustable anti roll bar drop links or 250?

Dunno was at the start of the year I got mine. Makes no difference what they are for though, just need the right length.
