Best Place to go for a decent map?

  1. Afternoon guys,

Thought I'd ask this question after I royally fucked up an appointment with ED recently (failed to show as away with work). ED are now refusing, understandably to take any sum of money from me...shame.

As KTR have tried to map the car to my specifications but haven't quite managed it, where else is there in the whole of the UK that are reputable and can properly map an RS250 with stage 2 turbo, injectors, fmic etc?

Car was running 338hp and 440 lbft on first map which KTR have since turned down to 308 and 370lbft but I'm thinking that the curve and power delivery can be better set and a figure closer to 350/350 could be achieved...

Any suggestions or does anyone know ED and can plead on my behalf for being a complete tit :worried:

  2. Scoff at efi is around that neck of the woods I think? Otherwise its the famous RSTuning

  3. Predictable answer would be RS Tuning in Leeds - Paul seems to really know his stuff - I ended up going from Surrey up to Leeds to get him to work on mine.

  4. I think at @Space Cadet knows Andy at ED.

He might be able to plead your case to him.

Where abouts in the country are you?

  5. I think Mark (Monsieur Cadet) already put a word in for me in the first place...

I'm in Surrey so a jaunt to Leeds may be on the cards then! Why isn't there anywhere exceptional down south? Strange.

    Paul at RST for sure..

  7. RST at Leeds as said, but I'd check he will do what you want because I know he won't map it to somethings he's not happy with if you haven't got the supporting mods.

  8. Paul mapped my std 250 today. I had no idea what he was doing to justify making comment or demands so I just let him get on with it. I wanted more power / torque whilst remaining safe. I didn't need to ask, I knew he would do this based on the reviews I've read on this and other forums. Clearly I asked what he was up to and how the car was re-acting - I'd like to think he put it into laymen's enough for me to understand lol.

Anyway, he delivered. As expected. I wouldn't have asked him to do anything else anyway. I put my faith in him and i'm happy with the result. I could have more but he turned it down to prevent any subsequent damage. He has earned my trust already.

On top of the good reviews, he is under 2 hrs from me so it was an easy choice.

In short, I'd recommend RS Tuning.

Sure? I've seen a few people mentioning him now

  12. You got it buddy. Just go to the place where you know it will be sorted.

  13. 225's he does, i'm sure he is able to do a 250 aswell but wants to do proper research and developement before offering it to the public

  14. RST for me. I had a map which I thought was good when I went to RST. I left RST with a better map more bhp/torque and the knowledge the map was safe.

    Highly recommend Paul at RST.

  16. Thanks guys I'll give RST a try

  17. RS are worth the drive, i've been up a few times from Kent, he knows what he's doing with Renaults.

  18. You door-knob!

I’d be pissed too, but then what’s done is done and I’d rather swallow my pride and hope that I could make some money off you in the future.

Coincidentally I was there on Monday and could’ve had a chat with him. Seems a little overkill on their part but perhaps they’d blanked out some time and therefore lost business from elsewhere. Perhaps though there has also been some crossed-wires as even still it seems a bit OTT, especially if you are offering to pay in advance.

Just to clarify you have offered to pay in advance? (If so that sounds a reasonable thing to do to me.)

I’m happy to give him a call if you like?
