I picked up a replacement for my track day 225 on Friday. It took a flight and a 600 mile return to my hometown. However, I took it nice and easy and stopped about halfway for chocolate coated banana. I have a few future plans for it but for now I'm enjoying it as is. It does have the 'comfort pack' so it has a radio, R-Link and A/C but that actually adds less than 10kgs. I'm looking forward to getting it out on the track!
Thanks! Prior to purchase I was considering taking the stripes off for a cleaner look but I'm leaving it as is because, as you say, the combo is spot on. Sydney! Picked it up from Brisbane from No152. Thanks! I have yet to drive it in anger so for now I'm just enjoying looking at it.
Awesome, No Ring pack? I always get jealous when i see photos of the undersides and arches of cars that aint in the UK, So clean. Our weather and road conditions ruin everything LOL
Needs a ecu tune that 100kgs weight saving it will fly! Enjoying the Akrapovic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have the complete Ring pack "Green Hell Kit". The two-piece rotors are on with the rest of the gear to be installed in due course. The other thing I notice with the weather in the U.K. is so many track day photos are in wet or damp conditions. At least you don't seem to have cooling issues though. Upgraded intercoolers seem to be detrimental in Oz.
I'll certainly be contacting RaceSpec in the not too distant future. I'm loving the pops and crackle on overrun!
You probably could do it with this: https://shop.renaultsport.com/produits/miniature-megane-radicale-rs/
I followed this advice: http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=88331 and made sure that I right clicked both files to the correct folder (Maps) and the RS Monitor then recognised them. I also ensured that the extensions where correct as one time I saved a file and it changed the extension for some reason. I responded to your post in OzRS also: http://www.ozrenaultsport.com/index.php?/topic/28698-track-maps-on-rs-monitor/
They all go into the RS Maps folder correct? Pretty sure the MAC must of changed the extensions on the end, I bet that's the issue! Damn Apple Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, on the USB you should have a folder named 'RS' and then the following sub folders: Mine has just 3 sub-folders.... - Acquisitions - Highscores - Maps I used a MacBook Air and it changed the extension for some reason on occasion. The Maps folder should have just the .kml and .png files.
Hi there DOOOOK, I'm interested in what times you've done around Wakefield Park? I've got a stripped, semi slicked RS250. Pete.
Hi Pete, In my modified 225 I was doing low 1:11s but then I stripped nearly 100kgs and with different tyres managed a best of 1:09.06. I've only taken the Trophy R once to WP in complete showroom spec and did a 1:11.07 so I'm still on a steep learning curve with it. Next outing with it is at Eastern Creek.
Hi Dook, So my maps now show up in RS Monitor and I can change them BUT for some reason they won't automatically time at the track? I can only review them after on the PC? Have you got the live timing part to work? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haha such a good fit! Looks great! Can I ask what the Rim specs are? What offset? I'm surprised 255's fit across the back! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Interested to see how that goes, most run 235 rear with wider fronts to keep ensure the rear can still rotate well. In my experience over the last few months from running 255s up front, they feel horrible on the road and don't actually seem to offer that much benefit, track may be different mind you but I feel mine drives nicer on its narrower track wheels with V70a's
Yeah, it will be interesting. If I struggle to rotate the rear than I can always adjust the Ohlins in an attempt to dial-in or dial-out understeer/oversteer as required. I have a separate set of wheels/tyres for the track and road so I'm not concerned about having to compromise.
