Paranoid whiring

  1. Evening gents. Just noticed that when im driving at low speeds a whiring noise seems to coming from engine. Am i been paranoid or is this normal.

  3. nothing paranoid about it , had the same on my 250 . every post on here points towards either diff or gearbox bearings. by the way every other person who drove in the car with me said they couldn't here it . guessing you become attuned to your own motor and can pick up subtle differences others can't.
     
  4. No air con on, costs to much fuel lol. If it is a bearing would it be covered under warranty as ive only had it 10 days.

  9. not saying anything was wrong with it but like you it got to the stage of paranoia about the whirring noise and something was going to go seriously wrong
     
  10. Yeah it does get to you. My mates gonna check it over. He knows them inside out. His running a 400 bhp 600 lb ft r26. Absolute beast

  12. Yeah built by rs tuning. Fully forged engine, every upgrade possible including a full custom fuel system

  14. Mine has a whine and I'm pretty sure it's the diff/gearbox.

    My last car (Mk2 Mazda 3 MPS) did exactly the same and the noise was almost identical, coming from the diff. Some people managed to cure it or make it less noisy by using different diff oil, but if you can put up with the noise I wouldn't worry. I like to think of it as a characteristic of the car lol
