  2. Sean I know you watch these threads as your rep is getting worse by the week.
Do the right thing and look after him and repair the car that way you might just save your
Rep. These forums is where you should be supportive.
Your charging him £1,000 and want to put an older box in his car you wanker
Even your man left and came back to Wolverhampton let's ask someone from inside that place.
    Shocking shocking shocking

    Do the right thing Sean

  3. Hi everyone, I ended up paying £1200 odd to get the gearbox sorted and within a couple of months sold the car as could hear the same whining noise happening again. I wish I could say I was just paranoid but it was dead quiet when I took it away and within 2 weeks of it being home was whining again, I think the map was too aggressive for the car or something I don't know.
It's a shame because I absolutely loved the car to bits.
If I ever buy another 250 I won't get it mapped, I'm sure this was the problem.

Highly doubt it was anything to do with the map.

Decent gearbox rebuild should only be around 6/700 as well, that's what I was quoted by a box specialist for a full rebuild

  5. I wasn't offered a rebuild, only a swap with a box that has just been rebuilt.

  6. Thats very poor you shud take em to small claims ct

  7. it was half a year ago now mate and I've sold the car, just chalking it up to experience. Will always check what warranties include properly now.

  8. The way I see it, if you dont feel comfortable or have to doubt or ask questions about a garage, dont use them. I paid £1600 all in for: Cambelt, auxbelt, waterpump, thermostat, service, LSD Box(20k), refresh oil, rear pads and all fitted, From the man who left! Cannot fault the workmanship either

    Sean Cossons likes this.
  9. I had the same issue, bought my car from ktec, but the noise developed after about 2 years of me having the car, so I couldn't blame them.

Changed the gearbox oil and the noise dissappeared and hasn't come back since!

Hope I haven't just jinxed it lol
