Megane badge delete

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by Chris Llewellyn, May 31, 2017.

  1. Decided to remove my megane badge as i felt it just didn't suit the rear of the car. Much prefer the cleaner look.
Easy job, heat gun, then slide some dental floss behind badge wrapping ends around you're fingers and work it back and forth until badge comes off. Remaining sticky pad just peels off. Clay bar, cutting polish, then wax or sealant. Job done:smiley:

  2. Looks even cleaner if you remove the renaultsport badge and just leave the RS as the badge is two parts

  4. Quite like the Renaultsport badge, just hated the megane badge as the Font looked all wrong for the style of the car.

  5. Spoiler extension looks good too. What make is it?

  6. Is it a Maxton design spoiler extension? Looks like it. Been thinking of getting one of those for mine. Saw one in the flesh and quite liked it. Subtle but gives it a bit of a different look.

  7. Yeah it's maxton and it does really suit the car, only gripe is the fixing tape doesn't have the strength to hold the ends of the spoiler to the curve of the original and ends up lifting. Maybe warming the tape beforehand would hold better

  8. A friend of mine has a similar problem with the Maxton spoiler on his Corsa VXR. He bought some genuine 3M tape for his. Apparently Maxton advertise that they use it but don't in reality. I don't know how true that is though!

  9. Thought they only fitted the trophy spoiler?

  10. Looks much better!

  11. Is there any difference?

  12. Not a fan of keeping the "RS" it looks a bit odd

  13. Yeh, they changed the spoiler from the 250 to the 265 trophy, im assuming they kept the 265 spoiler after that.

  14. So they did! Didn't realise that. I have the later spoiler thankfully.

  15. Yes:

That might be why the ends won't stick correctly on mrsixxxx's spoiler...

  16. The spoiler I fitted was definitely advertised as fitting the 2010 rs 250 back when i purchased it but I see now the website has been updated quite a bit with completely new demo pictures of it fitted to the trophy. it followed the curve fine at the ends just that the tape wasn't sufficient to hold such a tight bend the last 2 inches or so.

  17. The center brake light looks much better on the 265

No, a lot of the late 250s did

  19. The later spoiler came on the 265 trophy which was in 2011, yours being a 2012 would have a the same spoiler, the later 265s had the spoiler and longer DRL, yours are the earlier DRL same as the trophy.
