Stuck here between two options, been considering between the Forge BOF or the Recirc, Anyone had either or both and can recommend. Understandably the Recirc will eliminate more lag than the BOF but also is quieter than the BOF. Now Im currently running 310bhp with minimal turbo lag. I do want the turbo to kick in faster and am planning to push to 340-350 bhp. But I also do enjoy the noise from a BOF. What are the recommendations of what one is a better choice?
If you run an open cone and metal-constructed pipework were the bov/recirc is going you'll hear much more sound from it. Enough to not warrant a bov perhaps....?
As said above you'll get plenty of noise from the re-circ if you fit an open cone filter . . . and if you want to change up the noise just pull the vaccum pipe off the re-circ and block it off then you'll get a nice chatter . . . I've fitted an open/shut-off valve on the vaccum pipe leading to the re-circ so I can switch it up when I'm bored of either sound. Rather than spending out on a BOV which prob won't be much louder than the re-circ.
I gained power fitting a Forge recirc after taking off a Forge BOV. Possibly the BOV had a leak but the power difference was evident on the dyno.
