Removing a remap

  1. Hi all

My car is being returned to standard in preparation for being sold. Does anyone know if keeping the map on the car will cause any harm? Or if the likes of Renault would be able to remove it through CLIP?

  2. Get a softwer update. That will remowe the map and put on the fresh factory map.

  3. Is this for definite? Or could the reprogramming cause issues with the ECU?

  4. yes, an ECU update will erase the map you have.

  5. According to RS Tuning this can't be done!?

  6. call Renault and ask them. say you car has been maped and you want it stock. you want also an ECU update.
be sure, Renault can clip is much more powerful than their hardware at RS..

  7. Some maps lock the ecu, I believe rs tuning is one of them. It's so you can't get in and copy the map and transfer it to other cars I think

  8. If it's been mapped at RS there's no way Renault will get in. Also there's no such thing as a software upgrade. If you really want to return it to standard why don't you ask RS?

  9. Tutuur dont say theres no something justbecause you havent seen it!

As i have been on such. And that is not uncommon. They perfect the map as the cars roll out. And they get every little thig sorted. And i saw the map on the ecu before and after and there is doference. They are not same!

  10. For these cars there isn't, to be precise there are 5 software versions on the 225/r26/r26r's. And yes, some have minor changes over others but not really an upgrade.

However, as said before, once remapped by RS the dealer won't have access to the ecu anymore

  11. So there is an update...
