Hi Any advice on best place to jack up the rear of the car and place axle stands into position for a few days whilst sorting a rear calipers and pads? Cheers

If it's rear you want jack the front from the front Jack points. The front wheel will come off the ground. Keep going until the rear wheel on that side comes off the floor too. Place axle stand at rear Jack point. Lower car at front. Do the same on the other side. Job done. RS 175 Cup Lux

If I am working in my garage is it possible to jack the car using a workshop low entry jack from either the front or back? i.e. not from the side.
Here you go buddy... Rear - take the plastic cover off the rear axle/beam first... Front - look underneath the car in front of the front wheel...I positioned the stand so one side lipped up into that hole and the other into the arch... I had the car up on 4 axle stands and was solid as a rock
Thanks richmeg. Pretty much all workshop manuals will say not to jack from suspension mounts or engines/gearboxes etc. even though people have done it routinely for decades. Unfortunately in many cases you can't safely lift a vehicle from the side with a trolley jack due to lack of space such as in most peoples garages, unless of course one uses an emergency scissor jack, bottle jack or similar that doesn't require lots of space perpendicular to the lift arc. I will have to look at those jacking points, doesn't mean I will do this of course but its option with the Meg, one of the nice things about my 944 race car is that I can jack it from the front subframe or the gearbox at the back.
