1. Hi,

I wonder if anyone installed an auto-blip to their car?

This is my first post. Thanks for your patience and advice.

  2. Auto blip? As in: car rev matches on the downshift?

  3. Yes indeed - most modern cars have it now (Cayman, M140i...)

  4. Sad world! I think the first production manual car that had it was the Nissan 370Z.

Don't think I've ever seen it retro fitted.

  5. You don't think its a good idea?

  6. Depends on preferences. I personally wouldn't even remotely contemplate it. If I want a car that does this sort of stuff for me, I'd have bought a dual clutch box to begin with.

  7. I think part of the reason they are fitting these now is to promote efficiency, longevity and to reduce NVH, rather than as a fake way of making the driver look cool like they were heel and toeing through the 'box.

To answer your question OP, I've not heard of anybody having this done to a Megane. That doesn't mean it's impossible though.....

    Welcome along btw :grinning:

  8. Would be handy to switch it on and off. I'm shit at heel and toe lol.

  9. I don't think the peddles help in the meg! Clio is perfect for it!!!

  10. Would be a nice feature.

Software driven throttle response time and pedal modulation on cars can make manual heel and toe more difficult. What your foot quickly what's with a blip isn't delivered.

When throttle pedals are connected to the throttle body by an old fashioned cable, it is much easier.

  11. Selectable auto blip, like on the 370Z is the way ahead. Best of both worlds. Doesn't add weight to the car.

Dual clutch boxes are just boring, heavier and will have longer term high maintenance costs.

  12. It can be easily retrofitted from what I read online. Costs £400 though

  13. Have you installed one?

  14. Never done it. Not been worth the cost for me.

  15. Spend the £400 on some tuition and learn the proper way. You will learn more than just heal and toeing too. Win, win!
