Adding Cup Diff to Non-Cup Model

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by ryan2828, May 7, 2017.

  1. Hi there,

Had my Megane 250 (non cup) for around a month and I'm noticing the front wheels spinning up a bit on the exit of corners.

Does the cup diff remove this completely?

Also if I wanted to add the cup diff would it just of be a case of swapping the gearbox over for a cup one?

    Cheers!

  2. It doesn't remove it completely, no.

Changing the gearbox will do what you want, yes.

Controlling the throttle modulation will help, as will better tyres, and/or changing the pressure though.

it will help massively however the stock ATB LSD still has its limitations, especially on track.

Ill be going for a plated diff or wavetrac at some point, probably over winter rebuild time.

  4. Thanks chaps, I think I'll try and have a drive of a cup at some point to see how noticeable the difference is.

  5. If you was interested have a cup box for sale mate

  6. Thanks Nathan, I'll nab a drive of a cup and see how I feel.

  7. Wavetrac don't do one for the Meg, only Clio... I got in touch to see if they would make one but they don't see much demand with the Clio so would need a lot of interested people to do one for the Meg
