630cc Injectors

  1. Hi guys.
    My R26 has;
    Decat.
    630 injectors.
    Air intake.
    Forge intercooler.
    RST remap.
    Currently runs at 282bhp.
I am putting the standard cat back on - decat will be for sale.
Taking it to RST and having it tweeted to suit and also have it pulled back to 250-260bhp for longevity.
Does it need 630 injectors? Will having them on overfuel and cause damage?
    Thanks in advance.

  2. I'm in the same boat mate. Mine's on ktec turbo back with sports cat, 630cc injectors, ramair open cone, pro perfekt recirc and 60mm intercooler. It made 276bhp 301 (capped) lb/ft at EFi.
After reading up on numerous megs now failing on blown engines (mainly due to cyl 1 fuel starvation causing ringland failure), I've decided I don't want to be driving around in a ticking time bomb as I really don't need the expense or hassle for a few extra bhp/lbft, so I'm going back for a detune (apparently I'm the first to ask for a detune but it's constantly in my head now!).

So would also like to know regarding leaving the 630s in - although RS tuning did recently publicise that oem injectors are at almost 100% duty even on a standard map, so 630s may be better to reduce the risk of fuel starvation - however, do they put more stress on the fuel system? Really it all sounds down to a poor fuel rail with no return - but then how does mapping increase the instances of engine failure if it's down to a crap rail!?

  3. Hi bud.
My concern was over fueling and washing the bores - causing catastrophic damage.
Wasn't aware of cylinder 1 problems.
Like me, your going from stage 2 to stage 1.
I suspect 630s are over kill but Im sure RST can/will adjust them to suit, and as OE ones are fragile, were probably in a good place?

  4. 630's will be fine, borewash only applies when running way too ruch. Althpugh you don't need 630's for a stage 1 car so if you still have the standards you could get some money back for the 630's.

As standard they run pig rich, on stage 1 DC's are generally lower then standard!

  5. Ill find out when I go back to efi on the 28th mate. Probably go down to 260 ish but more importantly reduce the torque as I went frkm 240 to 300 so halfway will let me relax a bit more.
Should be fine on 630s as long as mapped right, which they will be

  6. Dc's?

So 630cc are fine at 250 bhp maps? Just unnecessary (but at least more reliable than oem)?

  7. Sorry, dutycycles

Yes they'd fine at stage 1 aswell
