Hi All, Forgive me if i have posted in the wrong place sorry. I took the megane 225 in for a remap and middle box chop on the weekend only to be told it was already remapped. The problem i face is i was looking at upgrading the injectors which would need mapping. i was told this could only be done by the garage who mapped it in the first place. Does anyone know of anyway to get the remap removed so i can get it mapped again with the new injectors? Thanks
I don't see why they can't map on top of the existing file but... I do believe the 'tuning boxes' can revert to standard maps iirc.
If it's not, as said above a competent tuning company such as RStuning will definitely be able to sort it, and any tuner worth his weight can custom map a car....
I Dont know who did it as i purchased the car 6 months ago and not made aware of a remap, I took it in for a custom remap at my local garage who send the file off to another company to remap. i shall find out which company. Just thought i was stuck for a moment there as there is no chance i will find the owner before me !! LOL Have any of you guys upgraded your injectors to 630cc ?
I Shall have to find out which company it is. Ahh i see, i haven't a clue what the meg is running at at the moment. probably worth getting it on a dyno. How much would i be looking at for a dyno run ? Cheers all much appreciated
Most charge around £60 with a printout, however there are a lot of places that do it cheaper £40-50..where abouts are you from? Stage 1 should be between 245-260bhp at 1.2bar ...
I wouldn't have thought a local garage would be able to map a set of 630 injectors in as its not that straightforward. Like others have said I would take a trip to Rs tuning in Leeds. They will also be able to remove your previous map. Lee.
Yea that's what I thought. Although the garage said they could It probably won't be done properly. I'm from Worcester. West midlands . Cheers
Your right it won't be done properly, there's a reason we all travel hundreds of miles to go see Paul at rs tuning lol
I suspect they would have scaling issues with the injectors meaning you run out of fuel on 1/4 tank still showing..
Bigger injectors mean flow more fuel by a scale factor of x therefore your tamk will empty faster by a factor of y. assuming the car isnt told about the bigger injectors and the fuel tank voodoo scaled correctly you will be trundling round thinking I have 1/4 tank then the car conks out with no fuel ..
