Hello all. Thought I would introduce myself. I registered on here a while back and have been quietly reading bits and pieces, trying to learn what I can about MK3 Megane Sports. I was a bit of a Ford guy for many years (I still have two Escorts), but bought a Clio 172 Cup as a cheap hack/track toy a few years back and absolutely love it. A trip to the Nurburgring with some friends a couple of years ago (not in the Clio sadly) exposed me to the Megane RS, as there was an army of them absolutely flying around and, ever since then, I have been toying with the idea of getting one. The lease on my Golf R is about to expire and I want something a bit cheaper, but also more exciting, so the Meg is top of the list. Got a budget of up to £15k for one, so it will be a 250 or perhaps a 265. Like most other people who want a Megane, I want a FF with Recaros, Xenons, DRLs and an RS monitor would be nice too. Of course, if there are any other options that people think I should look out for, I'm open to suggestions. Thankfully, while I am fussy about options, I'm less fussy about colour, so hopefully I can find something that pushes my buttons. I'm hoping that this place can help me learn a little more about what I should be watching out for as, other than being aware of belt changes, I don't really know many of the other pitfalls. Front suspension wear also seems to be something I should know more about. I recognise a few names from Clio-world, so hello to those guys and hello to the rest of you too.

I sold my old facelift 265, which was a fullfat model (without RS monitor) but was brilliant. I missed it that much, that I went hunting for another Megane RS 2 months after I bought it's replacement. I bought a white, 61 plate 250 last month for just over 10k last month and it's ace. It needs its belts doing, and a thermostat but for the price I paid, with the options it has I'm well happy with it. I'd rather the sat nav, than the RS monitor as the oil gauge and stuff would be handy, but the throttle mapping I can take or leave. For 15k you can get a tidy 265, or a higher mile facelift 265.
Thanks for the info. Yes, looking into it, the 265 does have more appeal. The newer and lower mileage the better. I like the dark headlights too and am a bit lazy to have a 250 and have to take them apart. I'm not too fussed on the RS Monitor, but Recaro seats and Xenons are a must! Not found one that pushes my buttons yet though.
Check KTR/K-Tec car sales, they only stock Cup and Trophy Chassis cars They normally have some pretty high spec ones too. It's where I bought mine from and it's pretty much fully loaded.
Yeah I do keep an eye on them. They have a nice looking black 265 but I have a weird block on buying modified cars lol.
