Rs monitor

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Momos, Jan 7, 2017.

  1. I have been looking at a few cars in projects and seen some saying rs monitor could someone tell me wot this is thanks

  2. It was an option from renault, its basically an extra menu in the centre display, which gives you boost/power/oil temp etc graphs, lap timers, g force graphs and different sensitivity modes for sport mode.

  3. Nice mine don't have that lol

  4. What does the centre display say on ignition, "renault" or "renault sport"?

  5. Am pretty sure it says Renault but will have to check

  6. Renault sport indicates the rs monitor, there is a thread on here with all the relevent part numbers.

  7. Part numbers ? Can this be fitted to cars without

  8. Its abit of a grey area, the original rs monitor is plug n play, as i found one on ebay, but that part number was superceded witha new part number which you can still get from renault but someone bought one but couldnt get it working. But then there was someone with an rs monitor, but it had the standard unit part number on it.

  9. R-Link 2 that has the RS monitor in it relies a lot more on than just the menu. If someone wanted to get it retrofitted, it would involve putting all the sensors in the right places which don't exist. Or at least so I've been led to believe by Renault.

  10. All the sensors and information is there, it's the same monitor . It's the programming software that puts the RS monitor on.

  11. As @Cockers has said, all of the sensors are already on the car, and the RS Monitor displays data from them. If you wanted to, you could make use of all the sensors already on the car, and display them and log them.
Below are some screenshots of the logged data I get from my 265 onto which I've fitted my own data logger.

  12. I´m waiting a long time for somebody who is able to reprogramm my R-Link with the RS Monitor !
But as far as i know, knobody has made it till today.

I even talked to Renault Germany, to get this done by Renault in France or wherever, but they don´t wnat that to do.
I changed my RS because of problems, and got a new one...
And this one is without the RS Monitor.
I would pay much more than the 300€ which was the original price, but Renault dosn't care.

All they have to do is change the config of the car in France. (only in there system....)
    Then update your Software.

  13. If you're willing to pay, just sell your car and buy another one with the RS Monitor you want.

  14. Thaught about it...

But show me a new CUP-S with RS-Monitor in dezir-red for sale !

  17. Yes, LHD please...
How ever, I looked for it.
In the meantime many mods are done on my Car, so I prefer to wait, till somebody is able to ad the RS Monitor.

  18. I too would also like to get R.S. monitor working on my 2016 275 sportnav, it doesn't have it!!!!
I have latest Renault Clip, I will investigate this and see if I can change config or maybe connect to Renault with a Pass-Thru diagnostic tool and see what can be done,
I think there is a generally defeatist attitude on this subject, it must be possible!!!! It is only software harvesting the data!!
    Thanks

  19. Hi Isaac,

I'm sure lots of people will pay you a drink of choice (or several as a matter of fact!) if you find out how. Renault Sport in Germany and France (both HQ) confirmed that it is not possible.

I agree that it must be a rather simple software switch to enable to functionality. However no one has yet been able to find it (including people with CLIP and other tools).

What you'd really want is to find two identical cars (build year & exact spec) with the only difference being R.S. Monitor and no R.S. monitor. That way I'd be easier to find the the difference.
