  1. hi all
planning on getting up to rs tuning this month to make the most of the no vat offer,
want to get a intercooler fitted first!
cant decide on airtec or wagner? any thoughts or feedback what you running?

  2. Pro alloy is what I went for

Stands up to heat very well

  3. originally i was going for that, but not sure I like the design, far too tall don't it cover most the rad?

  4. My mate is selling an airtec intercooler for an RS250, he offered it me for £475 fitted in birmingham, he is my mechanic and knows renaults very well

The Pro Alloy is very tall and does effect water temps.

I have an Airtec but if i had the choice between those two id be getting the Wagner one, Shame it wasn't available at the time i bought mine.

  6. Not quite as relevant, I had a Wagner IC on my 335i and it was top-notch in terms of consistent and low air temps. Fitted perfectly too, with well designed end tanks.

  7. sweet. its done now ordered wagner one!

  8. @-Jamie- which Airtec intercooler do you have? Stage 1 or 2?

Is the Wagner one worth the extra £100 over the Airtec Stage 1? Or the extra £50 over the Airtec Stage 2?

  9. I haven't noticed it affecting water temps... there's a turbo cooler also to aid water temps...

Wagner looks a solid choice also

Im fully in the camp that when an upgrade starts effecting other cooling items, it isn't as well designed as people think. Granted the Pro Alloy flows well but the additional water cooler suggests it is actually too big.

OEM's spend hundred of hours and a lot of money making coolant systems as efficient as possible, A good friend has an E46 M3 track/race car that actually ended up going back to OEM rad over the "uprated" one as it just wasn't as efficient.

  11. wagner one is £535 from ktec at the min, & airtec is £500,

  12. Oh okay.. Thanks for that.

I was just looking on ebay and manufacturers sites

  13. I have a wagner . so far so good . i love it

  14. how was fitting it? pretty straight forward?

  15. Wagner is the one to go for, a highly regarded company in the vag tuning world.

  16. Fits perfect,no problem at all, build quality also perfect...
