Today marks 1 week of owning the car after being away from renault sports for about 4 years or so - previously had a 182. Quick history - car is a 1 owner with 53,000 miles. Before sold to me it had the cambelt and water pump changed, full service, new discs, pads and fluid, engine mount and front coil replaced along with 4 new tyres. Overall the car is in pretty good nick bar the front bumper which ideally needs a respray as its heavily chipped. I had no really plans to change the car other than tidy a few bits up. Firstly I started with the exhaust as I don't think they had ever been cleaned. Much better! So this weekend I set up sorting a few things. First of all was a good wash. No more pics during as I concentrated on getting it done. But this is the after results. Finished it of with a cost of AF tough coat. Rained Saturday night and it beaded nicely. So that's the exterior done for now, now onto the bits I wanted to tidy up inside. Firstly I took delivery of these During: After: Change of mats
Next was dismantling a few bits Also stripped off the gaiter surround and door grab handles. Wanted to clean this up and try and match them to the wings mirrors to smarted it up. Renault were useless at helping me with the paint so I opted to try and match it best I could. Ended up using fords nimbus grey. Not a perfect match but a big improvement. Whilst painting I didn't really want to take the leather off the gaiter surround. I had many failed attempts to mask it off. A sudden brain wave and I found the perfect solution. And put back together... That's it for now. C&c welcome. Matt
Looking good mate! How easy is that centre dash panel to remove? Mine are blanked too, but my brother in laws with xenon headlights has the door lights.
Cheers guys Take the panel off at the bottom and either side you will see 2 T20 torx screws - take them off. Then remove your heading and cubby hole and you will see 2 more screws with a pink washer behind. Take them out then you can pull the dash off.
Looking good mate ! Did you remove the interior door handles to paint them up ? Drivers side on mine is driving me mental ! Easy to get off ?
Ahh so that's what they are, mine are also blanked off in carbon, is the wiring under there for them?
It's on eBay, it's specifically designed for Reno, think this was it. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=161598321621
Flol all aboard the Chinese band wagon. Really great piece of kit tbf although this one is tempting too. . It's all looking great chap.
Trying to park in a tight area near a fence, misjudged the rear wheel on a curb and it just lifted the rear arch onto the corner of a concrete fence post. So fucking angry with myself. Not going to polish out as its deep. No idea on how to repair it.
If it helps; i'm getting some work done on my car - 2 1/2 days with the body shop, 2 dings to fix and spray/blend in - £250. It's not a HUGE hit considering the work. It can be repaired, don't worry!
Unfortunate about the scrapes, and massive bad luck on the plumb who drove into you. Apart from that though, good going on the little details like the L.E.D's. It's things like that, that make a car come alive. Head unit looks bloody good too, massively OEM looking. Good job on the interior paint too!
It's even worse now as I use lots of country roads getting to my new work. This was washed a week ago!
Haha it is a bit! sadly none currently. Had a bit of change in circumstances so havent had the disposable income to throw at it. Hopefully that will change in the new year. Just enjoying the car for what it is until then!
