Exhaust backbox chop?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Bowen, Nov 25, 2016.

  1. I've got a decat and a mid box delete. I'm sure I read on here or maybe Facebook about getting the backbox removed too? Has anyone got it done? I assumed performance would drop with "back pressure" (is that what it's called?) etc.

  2. I've got it done. Well worth doing for the price. It will go well with the mid box and decat

  3. I know nothing sounds as good as hearing it in person... but do you have a sound clip? I thought with a straight through exhaust would have a negative affect.

  4. It'll have next to no effect on the performance either, cats the only notable restriction and you've already ditched it!

Keeping some back pressure is more for the scavenging effect used in naturally aspirated engines.

  5. I've only got a back box delete in mine, but a friend had everything removed and it sounded mega. There should be some videos on YouTube
