Are the wheel bolt threads part of the disc or hub?

  1. As title really...

Track day at Snetterton today, went to check the torque on the bolts and one of the rear bolts was hardly even in and wouldn't tighten at all.

I've not ever had rear tyres so how the hell the thread has been ruined I do not know- the bolt is completely fine.

I had a C4 VTS which had a rear bearing and the threads in the discs and not the hub- is it the same on a Meg 3?

Hoping so as I don't think Renault will cover this under warranty even though I have 0 idea how it's happened- so if I only have to do rear discs and pads and not a hub I will be a happy man!!!

    Many thanks
    Alex

  2. Wheel nuts screw into disc on rear of mk3

  3. Best news anyone has ever given me. At least that saves me £££

    Thanks muchly.

  4. Is anyone able to confirm this? Done a bit more research and it looks like the nuts do actually also screw in to the hub as well?

  5. Into the disc only

  6. Yeah thanks a mate has confirmed this also.

Sorry asked a mechanic who wasn't 100% on the RS so was getting conflicting stories. Cheers!

  7. I have a mk3 RS and had this issue - you just need rear discs, as the disc has the hub mounting bit as part of it
