When and where is the next meet? I'm the other side of MK near Bedford. Might be worth a trip over. Good food had me sold!! :-)
Compared it to a Mercedes CL600 - 6 litre V12 Fella didn't seem too happy about being bested by a Renault with an engine a third of the size.
Fitted some red wezmoto braided lines, they've really improved the responsiveness! Good cheap and easy mod!
Fitted my vauxhall Astra front spoiler today.Took me a little while as it's hard working upside down.
After 5k miles including 4 track days, fitted new pads all round: PFC Z-rated at the front were down to 40% but I'd rather swap them as heat soak is disproportionally worse when thinner on track. Changed for the same as they're just brilliant for my use of the car. The original rears were down to 20% though, which is little surprising as I turn ESP off on track. But I guess they struggle to cope with the performance and fade resistance of the fronts. Fitted Brembo basic pads instead. £20 a set !! They might not last but a that price... The Mr Pink pins came handy at the front. The rear is a bit of PITA with the piston rewind tool just about fitting. It's easy to damage the dust seals too. I also swapped the wheels back to front. The rear NS2Rs have very little wear so are now at the front. The old fronts have about 3.5mm left so not a particularly clever move, I should have done that before the last track day. Still I always take it easy in the wet anyway on those tyres. Will probably swap the lot for Yoki 105s for winter after the last 2 TDs remaining this year, by which time I might throw away the Nankangs.
Washed it. Emailed off to book it in for splitter. Purchased a infrared thermometer to keep an eye on brake temps. Contemplating oil cooler but don't know what to buy!?
Fitted new discs and pads in the dark last night. This is the final work for a while. After the gearbox rebuild, new slave cylinder, new clutch, new dual mass flywheel, new crank shaft pully, 2 new engine mounts, an anti roll bar link and a partridge in a pear tree the bill has come to just over £2000.
Changed my drivers side headlamp unit today and also my fuel filter on my mk2 1.9 dci. Really easy process. Well happy now.
had a new PS3 fitted after a spoon managed to make its way into mine! Don't like having one tyre newer than the rest but can't really afford to spend £500 to get a new set when they have 5-6mm left all round!
I know! I reckon the front tyre must have flicked it up and the rear hit it at the perfect angle for it to go in. Unlucky but it could have been worse I guess!
Very true! Just realised they've put a PS4 on instead of the PS3 I asked for, and it looks different to the rest! It's really annoying!
They really arn't, The PS3 is more a touring tyre with the PS4 being a UHP Summer tyre. I'd be going back and kicking up a fuss tbh
Called them today and asked to swap it over, and he basically said, we have ps3's in stock but we've fitted a PS4 now so live with it! He said he couldn't get any pilot sport 3's at the time but they now have two in stock which is what he told me before I went there! So basically I'd have to buy it again if I want the tyre I asked for! I think that's pretty poor to be honest, they're normally pretty good at Costco but I don't think they could be bothered to rectify their cock up!
Have you paid? If via credit card, call them and stop the payment - tell him some money is basically the same as some less money.
I paid debit card unfortunately. And my parents picked the wheel up and brought it home as they were shopping there so they signed for it. It's just my word against theirs and they're saying I've lied, so there's not a lot I can do really!
I'll just have to stick with the PS4 for now I guess. I'll email their customer service people and see what they say but I don't hold much hope!
I've replaced my Michelin cup 2 tyres with Uniroyal rainsport 3 tyres ! Should be a great improvement with this cold wet weather !! But I will be getting the cup 2 tyres again back in the spring
I run them all year round. Find they break away at the front quite easily in the wet which is slightly disappointing.
Had local mechanic Replace inner steering rods and track rod ends on both sides, and new front shocks interesting trip to get alignment done as offside toe was 18 degrees off and the nearside was 25 degrees off. Much better drive home ;-) Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
broke it went out to get dinner earlier, got back in and started and didnt have dipped beam so had to drive home in the dark with just side lights/fullbeam. nightmare. hoping its just the bulbs, bought a pair off amazon and should get them tomorrow and hope that fixes the problem
