So, the two biggest annoyances (apart from the woeful stereo) in my RS250 are a groaning / squeaking drivers seat (leather, non-Recaro) and a drivers door that 'clunks' on opening at two points. I was going unplug the electrics from the seat tonight, take it out and give it a good going over with a dry lube, and then I read that it isn't as straight forward as that due to issues with air bags etc. Is it possible that I can get a hand up the seat whilst still in the car to try to add some lubrication? Any ideas about the noise coming from the door as it opens? It happens at two very definite stages of opening so likely a strap / hinge issue? Thanks all.
I had a squeaky seat so bought some odour-free food safe lubricant spray from the local motorfactors and sprayed it around the seat mechanism when the seat was fully raised. Seemed to work for most of a year.
