Any easy way to clear an injection fault? I've changed the fuel filter in my Megane 175, didn't prime the system properly so it cut out a few times. Got it all primed up properly but now theres the injection fault message + check engine light. Car runs fine. Have disconnected the battery but hasn't helped. Any ideas?
Check to make sure there's no leaks firstly, ideally you need to scan the ecu for codes. Probably there will be a code stored for (low fuel pressure) from when you originally fitted the filter. If you scan and delete the code and and it returns, change the filter again Incase it's possibly faulty. Next time you change it make sure you keep squeezing the primer bulb until it's stays hard, she should fire straight away. Modern ecus especially the edc17 need to be reset via diagnostics tool, the old way of disconnecting the battery doesn't work. Hope this helps
Cheap way to do this is get an android device and download the app "torque" absolutely amazing piece of kit!! You will need a Bluetooth dongle for the obd2. But it's well worth it. Have a look on YouTube and let me know what you think.
Unfortunately don't have an Android device or a bluetooth dongle - I do have a USB one though so I'll try that. My Scangauge failed to clear it!
Torque works on all cars with an obd2 port. All current cars. Use it frequently in my megane. Very cool but if kit.
