Tempted, very tempted, what are you travel plans ???? i am travelling form Plymouth, is there a spare room at the hotel your staying at ??? been before but someone else did the organising.

  4. Not even sure if there are spaces on the event buddy - I tried to check but their website is down at the moment

    We stay here - http://www.hotel-wilhelmshoehe.de/

Bit further out from Nurburg though - not to everyone's liking

Well at least it gives some road miles to warm the tyres up :sunglasses:

  7. It does indeed. Looks like there are two day spaces and Thursday spaces available

  8. Well.... slightly disappointing! I have had an issue where, upon acceleration, the car pulled to the right and then after lifting went back to the left

3 different people had seen the car, none could identify an issue

Couple of laps in, the steering is really unsettling and this issue is a lot worse. Turns out it's a worn ball joint in the wishbone :pensive:

Sadly no garage in the area had the part, or the time to fix it, so it was game over after just a few laps

    Roll on the next one!

  9. Sorry to hear that Neil - how many miles has the car covered ?

  10. 40k, which seems about right. I've done 5k in it, and don't know what the previous owners used it for. Thinking back, I may have managed one track day before I started experiencing this slight pull on the road.

Nothing like a trip to the ring to expose all vulnerabilities with a car!

Was going to say the only uk megane I see was a liquid yellow trophy.

Hope you get it fixed quickly.

  12. Thanks buddy. CGR are looking at it when they fit my new exhaust in the next couple of weeks

There was also a couple of R26.Rs... FAS7 DAD (used to have a GTR, have seen him on a few track days) and R26 RUK (I think), but that car was sick too

There was also a black mk3, think it was German plates

  13. Bad luck Neil. That was an expensive few laps. Gutted for you.

  14. Could always be worse, particularly out there. Went over SX and had a huge wobble. Looking back it's not surprising

Won't post the vid due to language but it was one of those where you think... Not here... Not a Megane... Not on the roof...!!

There will always be another trip

I was taking SX very, very gingerly when i was out in May, The speed you can carry in mine with less weight and Hybrid power is quite scary frankly going into it, I think those YouTube videos have instilled even more self preservation in me! Plus i had a issue along your lines but it was under braking and extremely unstable on the high speed stuff. I did clock 140 on one lap but that was plenty

  16. I'm always a pussy through sx. If it ever goes wrong there then it's usually bad.

  17. It's not being a pussy, it's being smart. I too go through it at 70% of lat grip at best. Really not worth the risk at the speed we could take it. Many other corners to have fun.

  18. It was the 150 over the crest, followed by big wobble, which had me packing my pants ! The corner itself I'm usually at 110, which is probably around 20mph less than it could be taken but as you guys say, for what point. Just means a bigger brake into Aremburg

Looking back I'm just glad there wasn't a massive incident

For those that track their cars, how long between suspension rebuilds? Ie new wishbones, swivel hub bearings / hubs etc?

I was thinking maybe once a year to be uber safe?

  19. Depends how many track miles but once a year sounds a bit OTT. You could just check for any play on a ramp. Although this is a know wear and tear item on this particular car, mostly due to the stress generates by such high grip.

  20. I was there in the Megane and was very impressed with the car.
Even pushed a gt3 into the wall
    I felt so bad after.

  21. Got video?

    He shoulda moved

  22. No video of dn16
But I'm at spa on the 18th and will be taking the go pro

  23. Hope it's not wet for you!

Spa's great fun in the Wet, Even more so when your wipers are on full pelt and you still can't see in front of you going down Kemmel

  25. Tell that to the guys in the barrier :tonguewink:
