Hi there, I have just recently bought an Extreme Blue 250. I had been looking through the ads for several weeks and had decided on gunmetal grey when all of a sudden 'my car', a blue one popped up with the exact spec that I had wanted. Fate? For sure! But I just don't get why more of these aren't for sale. From the limited research I have done, the paint cost was the same as gunmetal or black but there are a spookily few for sale in blue. Maybe I have inadvertantly joined a secret 'extreme' society...maybe once you have bought a blue car, you just can't bring yourself to sell it. Anyway, enough of my ramblings, was just intrigued, Thanks, Tom
4 replies, three of which really positive. That's what confuses me I guess. It's not like Blue is an out there colour like Liquid Yellow. Maybe the Extreme blue RS250 will become like the fabled Liquid Yellow Clio V6
26 blue ones out of 886 in total by the looks of it! Check the heritage site http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/heritage I think everyone got excited about white, black and grey rather than not liking the blue. As a used purchase I'd generally go for a popular colour so it's easier to shift on, but like you I was set on grey until the exact spec I wanted came up in white! Concur with the others too, blue looks tasty!
What a great website. In which case mine is one of only two with the Cup Chassis in Blue on 18" wheels, my perfect spec, lucky find! Really interesting... Mk1 Clio V6 in Iliad Blue (again my favourite) - 8 (the least popular colour) Mk 2 Clio V6 255 in Iliad Blue - 191 (the most popular colour) Go figure!!!
That's because ph1's simply don't suit it but the more modern looks ph2 does! Red suits them both much better anyway
Got to admit I didn't even realise they did the extreme blue, never seen one before. Looks a fantastic colour though! Interesting site, thanks for that!
No prob! Take the figures with a pinch of salt though, there are a fair few gaps on the mk2! Defo gives you a good idea how rare some are though. Some of the ph1 mk2's are rarer than the limited edition trophy!
Well I have just joined this forum and it seems I am the only other guy who has the cup chassis pack in blue, but I'm on the 19" wheels. Would've thought though that the colour would've been more popular.
Extreme blue is a great colour but like everyone else I have only ever seen them on pictures! That website is brilliant if it's correct, mine is only 1 of 32 in capsicum red. And mine is one of 2 in red with TOMTOM and the cup pack! Superb that site!!!
Very nice colour, I think at the time white was in fashion and grey pretty much looks the best so that's why it missed out. Did somebody say there's a silver colour?
