This is literally doing my head in... So I've just replaced my tyres (all 4) with a new set of NS-2R's. Had them fitted, took the car for a drive and now it's pulling to the right. - for example - cruising at 60 in 5th, start to accelerate and you can feel the car pull right, to the point where it will drag you into the other lane and then when you let off it straightens up again. I took it back today to have the tracking done which was out by a fair bit. That has been done and it's still doing it !!! The car was at k-tec last weekend and I had them check for play in anything and nothing was found. Where the hell do I start ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds like a wishbone moving to me. Get it all checked again, maybe by anothe garage. Was the tyre wear even on the old tyres?
One tyre was more worn slightly than the other overall and a little more on the inner edge on the right tyre. My toe was out by a bit though. One thing I have noticed is some movement in the wheels back and forth in the arch in terms of caster if that makes sense ? I guess is could explain it by saying if you come to a stop, the front wheels almost roll forwards a bit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just seems strange that is suddenly started after fitting new tyres that's all I'm thinking about Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What tyres did you have before? Going from road tyres to semi-slicks can make them tramline and pull more on bumpy british roads.
I had Federal 595's before. It's not tramlining. It's most noticeable on a nice smooth A road, cruising and you put your food down and it pulls to the right Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have the exact same problem on my R26. Checked the lower wishbone bushes and there is too much free play, causing a pull. I have bought a set of Poweflex bushes to replace the standard items, you should be able to get them on the 250
I'm planning on changing my wheels around to see if the problem moves and maybe its a dodgy tyre. If not, i've spoke to a really helpful guy at Renault Wolverhampton and he said that they barely ever sell Wishbones for the Megane 3 RS. His thought would be the lower swivel bearing. Now i'm stumped as to what people have been replacing.. I see a lower hub 'pivot' being changed and then also mention of the lower hub 'swivel bearing' can someone clarify the correlation between these two parts ? Are people having problems with both ? Where is the swivel bearing located ? EDIT - Or is the lower hub pivot the complete part including the bearing already ?
There are upper and lower ball joint on front axle of Meg 3 RS, you should look some diagram of the front axle and you will understand. All those different names for the parts are making it too complicated if you dont know exactly whats going on under there. I think they are calling "swivel bearing" as one of the axle component from the Meg 2 RS. Sent from my SM-A300F using Tapatalk
