Hi, As soon as I have picked up my new Cup-S, the standard 8.25x18 wheels with the matching Michelins will be for sale! Could either come and meet somewhere in the Heathrow area, or could look into getting them shipped. Anyone interested?
For now and future road use, the OZ Alleggerita in 18. If I can finally get some suppliers to confirm the availability on the top mounts, I might run the car on 17" ATS GTRs on Sundays/dedicated drives/track work.
I'm interested if you could keep me updated and rough idea of prices. I have a set of OZ Alleggerita's I actually use for Summer / Road use. I have a OEM set of RS250 18" I use for track but I'm after something for winter use with more 'all-round tyres'. These would be perfect. Heathrow is only 1 hour from me but I have family in Windsor so makes an excuse for a day out anyway.
I'll think about some numbers by tomorrow! @EAndy I thought about keeping them for exactly the same usage, but I won't be using the car over winter/bad weather really, so I'd be a bit redundant.
I'm not interested in the wheels and tyres unfortunately however I am in the top mounts.... Which ones are you trying to fit? I am currently trying to figure out if the KW Clubsport top mounts will fit the Ohlins damper with a 2.5inch spring. Failing that I am also waiting for a response from some Ohlins dealers to see if they can supply an Ohlins adjustable top mount and spring for Renault fitment R&Ts.
I'll start a thread on that once I have some more news. I have quite a good relationship with Ohlins due to other (race) cars. They don't seem to be able to supply anything out of the box (v. unlikely they ever will) and I don't think it can be done easily with an Ohlins part (ie take an existing mount and modify it). KW CS top mounts were already modified for the Ohlins by a company, but I have not managed to see a set yet (or get any real info on it). Only other alternative I'm aware of at this moment in time are the Swiss guys at RSC. That comes in a kit: new top mounts for Ohlins, new springs (higher spring rate, exact rate unknown) and new drop links.
RSC do a direct swap kit, If the springs are the same size as normal ones then AST also do ones to fit the OEM suspension, As do Renault Kirfel and Silver Project. Few options out there for those wanting to run adjustable top mounts on OEM setup
Yes, the Kirfel ones (at least to my understanding) are modified KW CS mounts? Thank you for pointing me towards AST and Silver Project. Will try and Google a bit, never heard of these options yet!
I have the Silver project ones on mine, yes the are cheap and not the best design but my friend has had them on his A3 track car for about 3 years now and rates them. I've managed to get -2.5 camber and some extra castor.
