1. How many miles would you expect out of a set of brake discs from normal use?
Also where is the cheapest place for a full set of front and rear discs?

Normal use around 30/35k i would say

Ads at Renault is the cheapest for discs by far, Just over £100 for each disc.

  3. I've also been looking into this, mine is at 33K now and the rears are going to be replaced in the next couple of weeks. Fronts still seem fine and probably will last me over the summer. I think most people on here will say Ads is the cheapest for anything like this, i think its around £200 mark for a pair.

I'll just advise that when you start using proper aggressive pad compounds disc life is about less than half the above. Im on my third set of fronts and Second, Soon to be third as well, of rears. 51k.

  5. Wow that some serious brake use Jamie! How much track time has your car had?

  6. I got 25ish out of the fronts on what seemed (bought it with 14k on it) like must have been 1 set of OEM pads and just over 10k on a set of CL RC5+'s I think normal driving you'd expect 30k out of the fronts like jamie says as mine did a track day in that time and gets some weekend hoons

A fair bit, KH mainly but has done Snetterton and Spa/Ring as well. I killed one set of discs with half a set of pads at the end of last year. XP10s utterly destroy discs. Worth it though.

Im thinking of going for a 2 piece setup next to see if they will wear a bit better. More initial outlay but it should work out cheaper in the long run if i am not having to replace discs as often.

  8. Makes a good case for holding on to my 172 cup for track days if a 250 will eat discs like that. It would pay for itself after 3 disc changes!

  9. Discs and pads all round from Ads were around £530 ish for the lot. I changed mine recently

  10. I'm on the originals still, at 37k. Have been using road pads mostly, a short time on RC5+ (they are only in for tarckdays). Appart from a thousand or two miles on the RC5+ I'm still on my second set of road pads (currently EBC yellow). The original set still had plenty of life in them when I changed them too. Rears are on the 3rd set, 1st set were killed on track (top tip - turn off the ESP!), second set have about 80% left and are in a box as spares (EBC yellow) and I'm back on OEM which are pretty new.

There's no lips or owt on any of the discs but I'll be changing them in the next month or two as a matter of caution.

My original tyres lasted me ages too, surprisingly. 20k+ miles from the PS2s.

My car has seen quite a bit of track time too.

  13. ECP have a 30% discount on at the moment. I've just ordered a set of brembo front pads for £31 delivered.

Alternatively, if you want pads from Renault then call parts and Renault Wolverhampton & quote this forum. Front pads are £54 IIRC

I got my discs from Renault Wolverhampton too. Circa £200 for the pair from memory.
