  4. Yeah, no difference, but the Netherlands is quite crowded and flat, so radio reception is hardly an issue at all. I forgot to put my antenna back on after washing the car last week, and I still got good recepten on a 100km drive.

  5. Clean everywhere.

  16. Looks really well!

I'm just worried I put it on the front, then i'll start looking for side sill extensions to match, then some rear extensions too....

    :-D

  17. Removed, cleaned and sealed all 4 wheels with poorboys today. Took the best part of 3-4 bloody hours mind.

  18. Booked the car in for Wheel refurbish and recolour next week, Went for Gunmetal as the slight Blue tinge should go well with the Arctic blue paintwork of car. Will do Pics when complete

Also priced up for full cam belt / aux belt / water pump replacement and replacement Disks and pads all round (K-Tek) with my local guy to fit ( health issues means can no longer do my own repairs etc if they're more than basic

  19. Ball joint number two replaced, along with a check strap (£500 I won't see again -_- ) but at least it's not knocking anymore!

Next up will be tyres and rear discs and pads.... it's only on 37k!

  20. This is why I chopped the R26 in for a new car - when you add it all up I can run a brand new car for almost the same.

  21. I take it at that price, it's just the antenna and not the base.... Looks good [emoji1303]

  24. 6 yr service. The big one!

  25. Completely stripped down my 225 trophy front seats, and after doing a test run on my knackered drivers base cover i let the new covers soak in a bath full of vanish oxi then machined washed them on a 40 degree wash with more vanish.
I thought they were pretty clean but the water was black (Bath & Washer)

Ive seen this done on a VW forum but wasnt sure how they would turn out.... but the difference is incredible, especially on the blue cloth and somehow the natural grain has come back on what was smooth leather. Gave them a dose of AG leather care balm to stop them drying out too.

Had a run out with a M4 today that a friend had as a loan car for the weekend.

Finished in a Ferrari red individual colour, miles better than the usual boring white ones I see. Still prefer the M3 in terms of looks though. DCT and a smattering of M performance carbon bits with some other tasty options. Well impressed by how planted it was. Think he was saying it was up for 54k.

Nothing in it in terms of straight line pace with my Megane mind you which was quite surprising.

I will own a F82 M3 when they are a few years older and cheaper. Cracking things going by the M4

  30. Fitted a sun strip. Cheap mod massive difference.

  31. Went to the boosted U.K. Meet in Aylesbury, lovely drive there and great food and cars. Coils failed pretty impressively on the dual carriageway on the way home, so I limped her home and I'm getting that sorted tomorrow. More Meg owners should go to the meet, there were 8 or so but next month is the last one and it would be nice to see more there!

  32. Fitted a new starter and a poly bush engine mount. IMG_6719.JPG

  34. Did an oil change.
Bloody hard to get that oil filter off and on.
Also sorted out my fan speed selector.
It would not work on speed 4.
Took out the glovebox and located the wiring harness, gave it a wiggle and it worked.
Took it apart and gave it a clean and sprayed with electrical contact cleaner.Put back together and hey presto it works:grinning:

  35. Gone all Chav!! :flushed:.

Was having a few issues with rear lamp cluster so decided to replace the cluster.

I found a Pair of "Lexus" style Black Smoke units for less than Renault wanted for a single unit, (the Mk2 Ph1 is getting old so manufacturers are clearing stocks).

These actually suit the car better than I thought, and are fully road legal "e" marked, but am awaiting a stop sometime as they do look a bit dark, but lights show fine.

Am going to fit LED for all the existing rear lamps to increase light output anyway, just waiting for the Amber indicator lamps to arrive.

Hopefully the wiring is standard and not reversed like a lot of old Ford designs which need to have wiring reversed to run LEDs ( they use the base centre pin as Neg and the Body as Poz to save costs and so won't work with LEDs without a bit of work), but with these it's an easy fix as the light units have the connectors on flying leads so can simply swap these if needed, (and they will still work with standard bulbs anyway as they are non directional).

Will post some pics later or when the rain stops

  36. Hard wired a next base dashcam and cleared my drains again. Stuck a bit of the wife's shower body buffer mesh in each hole to keep the leaves up top and easy to remove. Will see how it fairs. Water still drains fine. Ditched my cigar lighter socket and fitted a USB socket with cover. Might try and fit another one in the back of the centre console for the kids to use easily.

  37. Updated my handles and glove box trim as they looked a little scratched. Really happy with the way it looks. IMG_7017.JPG IMG_7018.JPG

  38. Looks great. Is that carbon vinyl wrapped?

  39. Yeah, it took a lot of finesse, as the shape isn't ideal. Going to attack the centre console at the weekend while the car is in the garage.

  40. Finished the glove box trim today, not sure if I like it yet, any comments are welcome:-) IMG_7032.JPG
