Glacier White FF 250 CUP

  1. I get why people de-cat but i never will, to much of a pain in the ass when it comes to the MOT unless you know someone who does them but i bet even that's getting difficult to do with it all going into digital records.

  2. Like it, where from?

  4. I'd check the gaskets of the decat. I've never had a whiff of the fumes in the cabin, only when stood at the rear of the car. Also, I've dropped the rear seats to hear the exhaust more.

Think I'll go for a hearing and a smell test. Maybe it's me. Ha.

Car is looking good, really like the grey bumper against the White. Don't see that colour combo in the UK, much if at all.

I've always had the smell since mine has been decat, Thats been with both a Milltek pipe and a Scorpion 3" one and new gaskets each time and again when i had the hybrid fitted a while back. Windows up its fine but when down a bit you do get some smells

  6. +1, thats what i meant, its not coming from the vents but from the window and its outside all the time.

  7. Gaskets are all new and not blowing. Its a matter of taste i think for the sound [emoji14]
I also like that 'Antrachite Package' much more on those cars than black, my yellow one felt much more special with it also.

  8. I guess it depends how sensitive you are to the smell and how often you drive with windows (or sunroof) open. I once had to do some filming from the boot of my previous decated car on a racetrack, and the fumes were terrible. Wasn't that bad when driving around, but I hardly drove it with the windows down. The smell also differs between fuels, BP Ultimate seems to be the worse...

  9. Ahahahha very nice sticker!

  10. Bought another set of wheels for the car, OZ Ultraleggera 18x8 ET48 to be exact. As i was looking for some alloys with better ET than original ones (and preferably lighter), i found a set for sale not far from me (with great price) and didnt think long. They are matte black and covered with Kumho Ecsta XS tyres, 225/40 and seen some hard days, hope to drive them until the winter. This tyre is not rated as semi-slick tyre, but the treadwear is much lower than "standard" road tyre, so sticking to the road/track well. Thinking of refurbishing those wheels in winter time to antrachite or some sort of grey colour, as it suits the car much better
It feels to drive much differently now, better because this set is MUCH lighter than previous, but much more tramlining (it can be because of the lower ET and character of the tyre?!). Still happy for the purchase and hoping to get some great stance when installing Cooksport springs.

  11. Got the sport cat from the Germany already, fast shipping indeed.

100cel, so i think its not restrictive at all, and i hope its a good quality one. Will be installed in couple of days.

And one random picture from the new alloy, i hoped that the wheel gap is going to be smaller after some better ET alloys but it seems like exactly the opposite, now it really shows that the lowering is needed ASAP.

  12. How low can you go?!

  13. Yeah, higher ET will make the wheel disappear more into the wheel well, so I guess you can expect the opposite with a lower ET. Over here people seem to need a 200 cell cat for the yearly MOT (and a warmed up car), so you might want to check that with your local rules before going through the trouble of fitting it!

  14. As much as ive searched about sport cats from google (especially for 100cel ones), there were very little if any issues passing MOT with them. And for my luck its easy to install, i just have to take off the pipe that replaces the midbox, cut it shorter and weld the sport cat to that pipe and install it back under the car with the clamps. I will let you all know in the future how it goes when i have time for the MOT.

  15. I also did some more searching, Akrapovič downpipes seem to use 100 cells as well!

  16. My radio freezed second time now. Right after i connected my phone with bluetooth no radio or stalk buttons worked anymore, and after turning off the unit its not turning on anymore. First time had to take the battery cable off to fix it, have to do it again. Anyone had this kind of issue with the headunit, why is it doing like this?

  17. Would like to update my radio software if its possible anyone know about it? It seems its related with the BT, as its been for a while its gonna freeze if im connecting my phone and have to take the battery cable off to make it work again.

Also sandblasted and painted my wheel bolts black, i dont know how long the colour last but its deffo better now with the black alloys than the rusty ones were.

Have to refurb OZ alloys in the winter time, thinking about antrachite or some gray colour so i think i have to re-paint the bolts also then.

  18. I also had a look at updating the radio via USB, but the download links I found in Google all seem to be dead by now.

  21. that's a good effort

    What was the sidewall like?

  22. I didnt know that they are so warn before i took them off the car, grip was still great and overall those Kumho tyres were superb, sidewall was stiff until the end (if you meant that). Now with the Dunlop tyres, the road noise can be heard much more, thats a downside, but the car is driving straight again, thats a positive side, no pulling or tramlining.

  24. Find me a set or recaros lol, you always seem to post links from German eBay!

  25. Ordered dump valve kit from Poland company ProPerfekt, it really looks like a great quality kit, i will be giving feedback here once its installed on the car. If its the same as Forge for example, then the price is much much better !

  26. Finally had a chance to install 100cel sport-cat under the car, sounding waaay better again, not that raspy and nice low burble sound, didnt loose pops and bangs so im happy  You can really hear the turbo woooosh again and for me, it feels much better when the car is pulling without too much noise, feels more torque.
Exhaust smell is also gone from the back when the car is warmed up.

  28. This car is sold now, sad but have to move on. New owner who is a real car enthusiast also, told that he test-drove plenty of new cars also, and the Megane is a really great car, for example he told that the new Focus RS is bullshit
