  1. Like that a lot. Have you got a link? And also have you got a build thread?

  2. Search "rhino lip" on eBay, there's loads selling it (mine was £11.99 delivered) I bought 100 inches and had around 6" left over.

Not started a build thread as in absolutely useless at getting pics of anything I ever do lol

  3. Thanks mate. £11.99 delivered? Found a few at £30....

Pull your finger out, looks like a decent Megane!

  4. Yes delivered

  5. This is the one I've had sitting on my office desk http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rhino-lip...790511?hash=item28137f212f:g:eFYAAOSwZQxW3e0W

Does come with as they say a sample of the one like you've linked and the material difference is noticeable, although the one you list probably would do the job for a daily driver / show car etc, it wasn't ideal for me for use on track unlike the other one as not really trusting a piece of tape holding it on regardless how strong as places like Nurburgring I can see it getting ripped clean off, least this one will just break into pieces  still for £30.00 worth a punt, if it survives a ear I might go the route of one of the expensive splitters but for now I didn't want to waste £400+ on something that probably would get obliterated within a month.

  6. The tape is ok for holding in place whilst you use some self taping screws to hold it properly... It'd last less than 2 mins using just the tape....

  8. Yeah, I needs to get me some of this rhino lip. That looks particularly well @Bowen !

  9. My neighbor has a waterjet cnc, not sure if that would work with PE though.. If either you or Tymen would be up for making some AutoCAD drawing, I can inquire about cost?

  10. Looks good that cheap too

  11. Sounds awesome! It would take some time to dimensionalize the underside of the front bumper (the curvature). But since I will be removing it this summer anyways, I have some ideas on how to approximate the curvature as best possible (i.e. take a picture with long lens with a while the bumper is laying on its side to minimize the perspective distortion). Dimensionalizing the bolt patterns isn't too difficult.

  12. Where and how are you holding these on, interested in this but undecided

  13. Or ... we take our 10mm board material and cut it ourselves. Glue it on the bottom?

  15. thanks for the info probably also going to order me one :tongueout: , wanted to really get the flowdesign because it looks very sturdy but the shipping is insane to pay for that .... i can buy 3 or 4 from maxton if they break or fall off for that price

  16. Haha, indeed on the pricing! Anyways, I've ordered mine (matte ABS, not glossy) and hope to receive it this week . I'll post any pictures here when I get it.

  17. Curious to see how it fits underneath and if matt looks okay instead of gloss black.

  18. My splitter arrived last week and managed to fit it this weekend. Overall, I'm happy-ish.

    Some points to consider:
    • The material (ABS) is less flexible than the stock 'splitter' - don't know how long it'll hold out with my car being on coilovers
    • You will have to drill holes in the splitter itself, and then in both the stock splitter and front bumper for fitment (9 holes, 8,5mm)
    • It seems that the splitter is 'too long' (there is a +- 15mm overhang within the wheelarches - i.e. it is too long). If you want to cut it, you lose the closed end of the splitter.
    • The underside is not rounded off like with the stock splitter; it is completely open with straight edges. The downside of this is that it is much more prone to tearing and cracking as opposed to having rounded off bottom edges to the inside, as with the stock splitter.
But overal, I'm pleased with the sight for only €150. The matte black finish closely matches the stock splitter (I fitted a brand new one as well, so you can see the difference in color as when they are both new). Some plastic polish would completely get rid of any differences.

But anyways, pictures tell a 1000 words (all clickable for very high res):

  19. ow looks good well thanks for the pics and information time to order myself also one

  20. This is a serious no-go for me. If you make something for a specific model (Megane RS) at least make it fit 100%. Curious to see how long this will hold. Seen an Focus RS MK2 with a splitter like this which had many (large and small) cracks.

  21. Tymen, where did you buy the splitter and have you confronted them with the not-so-great alignment of the splitter?
I like the look of the splitter, but not fitting to well concerns me as well..

  22. sorry but a big NO NO from me !!!!

if its made for the car it should at least fit properly. Too much added black plastic on the front for me....

  23. I think it looks dead on, but i do suspect the extra round the edges is to blend in with their sill extensions that they also make (sorry, assuming this is the maxton design one, as it looks identical!)

  24. How's driving with the front splitter after some weeks Tymen?

  25. It's been fine so far. Have had plenty incidents of insane scraping of speedbumps already though. Splitter seems to hold up well.

But it's seriously also a downside. Being on coilovers already with slightly more rake, it becomes almost too annoying for me to have the splitter on still. Even though I like the look, I have to take so many detours these days and almost avoid cities entirely because I simply cannot get into urban areas anymore with speedbumps. Didn't have it at all with my coilovers without splitter fitted.

So ultimately, it's a fun nice looking thing, but I will be removing it again. It takes away too much in terms of able to take certain routes anymore. If you are just on lowering springs, I reckon it'll be fine.

  26. I've got the same experience on my other car, being very low + fitting a splitter took out part of the fun of driving it. Going into an unknown town with clenched butt cheeks gets tiring real quick...

  27. I've ordered a plastic lip online (about 25 euro) to see how that goes. If it's scratched within some weeks (like your expensive but stylish splitter has Tymen) then I know enough. I might be interested to check if it fits my car though, as I've only got the H&R lowering springs ...

  28. And it's off. What a piece of sh*t (sorry) ... It never fitter properly and the glue dried out. Now I washed the car and it just fell off.

  29. Anyone tried some other splitters?

  30. Huge bump, but any new experiences?

  31. Yeah I really want a splitter for mine, but a lot of the ones I have seen look pretty awful...

    Other options welcome...

  32. I went to macron design and got them to put them on the car tested both available went for the slightly less in your face version. I think the one in your link. Will take a picture on Friday. Also had the rear ones put on these are done I like them. Martin don't get much love on here but they seem pretty good I got the gloss black

  34. It's the same splitter, but V1 and the other which was listed was V2.
Saying this I haven't found any other front splitter for the Megane ... I might leave it standard.

  35. I think I've found the best OEM looking (arguably) front splitter for the Megane RS 250/265 (non-facelift) ...

Fitting is quite easy and strong enough to survive fast-road driving. 11 screws make sure it's fitted tight. Holes need to be drilled. 2 in the main bumper, 9 in the little black 'lip'.

    Anyway. Photos!

Remember the car is approx. 1cm lower and longer at the front:

  36. I have the v1 version front, Roof and sides+ rears fitted

  37. The V1 definitely looks better in my view. It follows the line of the bumper and looks a bit less "stuck on" than the V2.

The sides and rear aren't for me though.

  38. Oooooor make your own £23 this cost me
