Exhaust opinions

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Deanr26, Jun 7, 2016.

  1. As the title suggests I'm after opinions on what exhaust to fit to my r26, I haven't heard and after market exhausts in the flesh, I want it to sound nice with a nice burble but I wouldn't like to be super loud. I'm looking at the k-tec 70mm or the miltek.

    Any feedback would be great.

  2. They are an absolute work of art, they look and sound amazing but with the other things I have going on in life it's hard to justify the need for a masterpiece of an exhaust that's £870 (I think that's right). I'm thinking a lower end exhaust and maybe an intercooler and/or induction kit for not that much more £ than just an exhaust. I'm based in Stevenage.

There's currently a very good group buy going on with them which reduces the price quite a bit.

  4. I think the price of the group buy is about 100 quid or so more than the miltek (new) ... If I were you Dean id go for the cgr system! I've heard it in person and it sounds amazing! ...

  5. Sorry More like 200 odd quid... But If you're buying new the cgr would be the choice!

  6. I recently got a milltek and it's very quiet even with a sports cat it's not much louder than the standard

The cgr looks nice but I agree it's a lot of money for an exhaust, if I did it again I would go for the ktr 3"

  7. Very happy with my Miltec. Very nicely made. Thought it was quiet when first fitted but it is a little louder once bedded in. I still think it's fairly quiet but everyone says they can hear it and know when I have pulled into their drive.

  8. Milltek make decent exhausts and it's not chav loud - useful for ensuring you get on track days. Have always chosen Milltek personally, not heard of CGR before but doesn't mean it won't be fine

  9. I have the Scorpion rs240 3 inch system on mine. Its pretty civilized at normal cruising speeds but sounds really nice when you open up the throttle. On the downside, it can be a bit of pig to fit, some tweaking was required with mine.

  10. If they were all the same price I'd have the cgr without a doubt but I feel the money saved from buying a still very good quality exhaust like miltek can go towards other things on the list. So with that in mind I'm down to 3 inch k-tek, 70mm k-tek or the miltek they are all roughly the same sort of cost. Which is the loudest of the the three? I assume the 3 inch will be better from a performance point of view if I was to end up wanting more power in the future? Thanks chaps

  11. The 3" I would go for it's quieter than the smaller system and will be louder than the milltek, depends how loud you want it really

  12. It's not all about how loud or how noisy it is. It's how it goes that really matters .

  13. That's true if your building a car for our an out performance but i wouldn't want it too loud.

  14. I need to hear yours again, could do a swap. The Ktec with a Decat is a little loud for me

The groupbuy on our systems currently makes them £783 as we've got over 5 deposits so far, however as we're including Mk3's we're rapidly approaching the lower price band at 10+ which would make them £696.

We understand they are more expensive than other systems on the market and wish we could sell them cheaper but unfortunately due to the manufacturing techniques involved to keep the quality so high we really are offering the best deal possible and won't be able to sell them again at these prices.

If anyone wants to know anything about them or wants to talk specs/silencer options please feel free to get in touch :relaxed:
