Looking at induction kits/ panel filters for my RS250. Does anyone have any recommendations? I know I've seen a thread recently about panel filter for the 275, would this be exactly the same post but for a 250 instead. Any suggestions welcome Thanks Nathan
Much of a muchness I think. K-tec do an induction kit, a few guys are running a pipercross cone straight onto the turbo intake pipe with a reducer to hold it in place. There's the ITG induction kit an then obviously just a different panel filter from multiple brands. Are you after more noise or just purely possible power gains as im not sure a panel is worth even doing as the standard panel in a 250 is cotton already and not paper. If you want more noise you can remove the sound deadening from inside the airbox at the back which costs nothing although it only makes a small difference.
I assume changing the cotton panel for a bmc/itg panel makes very little difference to sound? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
It actually makes a big difference to the sound. I couldn't hear anything with standard airbox and filter. I removed the foam lining from the air box and replaced standard filter with a ramair and I can now clearly hear it in the cabin.
I took out the sound deadening and put in a ram air panel filter. Can now hear the noises coming from the turbo which is nice. Not too loud mind
I took the foam out ages ago and yes, you can hear it slightly but that's it. Put an induction kit on there with an open cone. Its much better honestly
I'm running the K-Tec intake kit mate. It's a great design and fits well. Makes great noises too ! Give Adam at K-Tec a ring, he will sort you out a good price on one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm fitting an apexi dry filter that I had on a previous Evo8 in the next week or so... Simply a case of installing a silicon 90degree bend (64mm / 76mm) and pipe connectors. I'll also run some cold air ducting at the same time. Will report back how the 225 responds in due course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
