Fitted my front JBL component speakers the other day. Had to cut some of my water sheild away which worried me a bit but when I fitted my speakers I used some bathroom silicone sealant around the speakers so no water can come in. It rained pretty much all day today so I took off the speaker cover to check everything was dry and it was! Next job is k and n panel filter and air box mod. Cheers
New rear cup dampers and springs this evening. Fronts with mounts and swivel bearing number 2 tomorrow.

PDR guy came round to body shop today and took all the little dents out the panels etc prior to it being painted next week. He spent a good 1/2 day on it and fair play it was brilliant to watch. Had a couple of tiny ones in roof which he used glue sticks to remove, few trolley dents on door swage lines, couple on rear quarters and a few on bonnet where previous owners had used there palms to close it. Next up, will be painting. Pics to follow as I forgot my bloody phone and camera. Also dropped all the interior parts to be flocked in anthracite this afternoon.
Not today, but over the last week or two.... Painted mirrors, bullets and diamonds with Renault 676 Pearl Black paint (still got the door handles to do but i ran out of paint!) Done some bodywork repairs - still got a couple more to do Fitted a Rhino Lip to the front Cup dampers Cooksport springs Powerflex upper engine mount and upper gearbox mount inserts (thanks to Richard Gardiner for supplying these at an awesome price!) Tinted the rear windows and Fitted my RSMegane decals! Some pics as she stands now:
Nice looking wheels Matt. They'd look spot on in anthracite. Maybe a little drop in ride height too although the rear sits quite nice on the pics above.
Fitted new Oem spark plugs, fitted beru coilpacks, got injectors back from cleaning, fitted and changed the oil to really expensive stuff I can't think of the name. Runs ins like a dream, ready for the remap next month
I was expecting them to make f*ck all difference, but i can feel a firmer pedal. Also bunged in some Motul RBF 660 fluid.
My 2 year old son did this to the front of my car today so I spent the past hour putting the number plate back on.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fitted new upper and lower steering swivels to driver side, slapped in a new wheel bearing in while I was at it. Tried this a month ago and couldn't get the drive shaft out of the hub. This time I went loaded for bear, and was not going to be beaten. With the help of my son we took it to the R.E.M.E. military vehicle workshops at RAF Wattisham. Got it done in 7 hours including also fitting new cup discs and pads on the front. Having the right tools for the job is always a good idea
Not sure what you used but a Hub puller/press is what's needed for sticky driveshafts. It bolts to the hub using three of the wheel bolts. Centres a threaded press on the shaft which you then tighten to drive the shaft out. Renault have a thing for thread locking the shafts in [emoji57]
Thanks, yes I bought a hub puller, you can just see it sitting on the jack in the photo. There is no doubt that there WAS thread lock on the drive shaft / hub joint. The two ball joints were quite stubborn also
MoT and had new top engine mount and lower dog bone fitted. Best thing I have done to the car is renewing the engine mounts, really incredible difference which make me think the top one in particular must have been a bit bad ever since I bought the car.
I need to do mine, did you just use primer then grey paint? I can't find a replacement because my drivers side handle is cracked and it's not painted like the cup ones!
Went over with wet and dry 400 grit and used acid etch primer yeah then painted them Has yours got keyless entry ? @ghosty0101
No just standard so it's the silver stuff that cracks. Been on the look out for one in good nick but I've only seen the whole door handle and not for under £55
Matt e You have a really good knack of spraying things up! Everything you paint ends up a thing of beauty! Do you use rattle cans? If so then I am very jealous of your spraying skills.
Replaced my air con pump, and took my decat pipe off to heat wrap it! Decat pipe a pain in the backside as expected but having the scissor lift at home is a massive help, still ended up being a late one though!
