250 Heater blower fan not working

  1. Meh!

This happens every time I leave the car in hibernation when I go away. It came back on after about a 30 min drive last time. No such luck this time although the missus says it comes on now and again when she has driven it lately.

I've checked the connectors on the back of the panel. They seem fine. Not checked the resistor yet. Need to work out how to remove the glovebox. Gonna try the coat hanger trick with the fan itself, if I can see it without removing the scuttle panel. What does it share the fuse with?

I noticed that the drain plug thing on the passenger side was full of shyte. Not checked the driver's side as yet. I'll need to clear them out at some point later though. I'm hoping this isn't the fan. I've read it's expensive.

  2. Glove box came out the other day. Found the resistor. Need to pull it out and have a check. Also, read on a other forum about the pollen filter being a possible cause. I changed it last summer so will have a crack at that next. Hopefully I can get my hand in enough to spin the fan.

  3. Fixed. Fan was stuck. Got it moving when I checked the pollen filter was ok. Running ok again now.

  4. How did you remove the glovebox and was it much of a hassle to do? I need to remove mine to gain full access to the fusebox which sits behind it.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Nice work!

I've just done my pollen filter again. Horrible, horrible job.

Thanks to euro car parts for supplying me with the wrong one last time I had to redo the job with a Renault part.

  6. Same here. I got one from ECP too. It's the right size but different design so won't fold into the tiny hole that Renault have provided.

Glove box is held on by 6 screws. Open the door, pull the panel off and then the trim under the carbon fibre effect bit. There are two screws in the end but and 3 along the top. There's one more in the top inside the glovebox. It then pulls out. May require a tug first time

  7. My heater blower used to work intermittently. Remove dash trim arround controls / radio. Remove cable controlls then pull out the controll unit. Firmly push back the plugs into the sockets in the back and re assemble.

The cables can be a bit tricky to get back together but appart from that it's a doddle to do.

  8. Thanks for that. Which panel do I pull off after opening the door? Do I take the screws out before or after pulling the panel and trim off? Thanks for your help and answering my questions.

  9. Sorry for the delay. Half moon shaped trim on the end. Only visible with door open. All screws (less the one inside the glovebox) are behind trim
