So had it a week, nothing special picture wise, but loving it so far. Gave it quick clean (de tar, clay, SRP and EGP) by hand yesterday to give it some protection for the winter. Oh and lost the MEGANE badge Spec is 250 Cup Recaros RS monitor Halfords Wheels ;-) Few niggles i'll work though, and not sure whats going on with the DRL's as they don't work in the blade, unless someone has tried to retro fit them in a past life and failed? (I thought if DRL's weren't fitted they were blanked off?) So mods/bits to sort in the next few months, Cup pillar badges Forge Recirc Possibly swap the steevs for some 18's Panel filter RS gearknob Good correction in the spring via DA as its a bit swirly Cambelt in jan
The wheels are bloody awefull! The DLR's were blanked off if not spec'd, you're right. That does look lovely in the red.
cheers yeah i'll probably whip the bumper off at some point to have a nose whats going on with regards to the DRL's The wheels I might either swap out for some 18's (preferable) or maybe refurb in satin black, less in your face then
personally love the wheels but have to admit doesn't work so well with the red. Check auto-dimming lights aren't disabled in the dash display for the DRL's.
Looks great just what I'm after but with the 18" wheels. Maybe you could sell those wheels and buy some good aftermarket 18's spoilt for choice in 5x114 et45
Cheers, knew I should have kept them wheel bolts No the golf was toss! Think it's capsicum on these? And re 18's that's the plan, either ax-l's or maybe some ultraleggras with decent rubber in time :-)
So bit of an update I've been slowly getting this up to "my" standard. So since that thread I've done the following Sacked off the steevs..... had to be the first job of being honest! Replaced the drivers check strap Full six year service (Cambelt) Got the DRL's working Replaced the wheel bolts with some tpi black ones Sourced some Cup badges, being a proper one an all New plates Bit of touching up here and there and full paint decontamination So as she stands, Today it had its MOT, which it flew though So, as I was working on call today, having a few spare hours I though about tackling the headlights. I hate the chrome units, and have been on the look out for some black ones but not seen any pop up. So I though I'd have a go at splitting mine and painting up the chrome. Quick run down, removed the headlights, stripped all the lamps out of them, then bunged em in the oven for ten mins (we'll sort of as they wouldn't fit ) removed the X6 clips and prised apart - once warm they were easy to split So few crap pics, Chrome bits removed and scuffed ready for paint, During..... I went Matt black for the colour Done So cleaned up the lenses and re sealed with tiger seal (that bit gets messy, no pics of this) So fitted (sorry for the crap pics) Happy days. Upcoming jobs. I've got some cooksport springs waiting for birchdown to fit. Wuth these, I'm going to refresh the top mounts and link arms as its all apart. Normally I'd go for coilovers, quite fancied some B14's, but watching the pennies as saving for a house so those can wait for now. I've not seen any Meggys on here with cooksports, so that will be interesting!. It's also ready for a good Paint correction, everything is waiting.... just got to motivate myself as its a hateful job! Oh and maybe black out the chrome exhaust trim Cheers for reading
I'll get this in a little project blog to keep it all together when I have the time Black door handles next
Looks great. I like the lights. Do the cooksport springs have branding on them? Or are they just black?
