Does anyone know how many pins I need on a new window regulator. I've inquired about getting a new one and he's asked how many pins I need but I've got no idea lol.
I think the difference is the anti-pinch function. If you get the wrong one it should still work but the anti-pinch may not.
I've fitted a new regulator and still nothing works it worked for a short period of time like 2 secs then went off so I know the regulator works. Could it be the switch as when I do down the left window you can see the light dim as there's electric going through but with the right one there's nothing like that happening.
Hi guys, slight bump on this one - my drivers side window has stopped working (annoyingly whilst half way open) Is there a guide to removing the door card? had a search but couldn't find anything, and seems quite fiddly from my initial attempt. ebay number posted above is useful, is there anything else I may need to solve this? nothing happening when I press the window button, so I'm assuming it's electrical as no power is getting to the motor? apologies, as I'm sure it's been covered a million times! Any help would be greatly appreciated
I used this video as rough guide when I did mine, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2D-iJQqx63M It took a bit of trial and error as there's some differences between the R26 door card and what's shown in the video, namely, his door is from a normal five door Megane so some of the switches are different. The one big difference I found was how the door card comes off once all the fixing screws are out. The video shows him levering it off with a screwdriver at the bottom, don't do that, it doesn't work. Once all the fixing screws are out, the whole door card needs pulling upwards then away from door to de-locate the clips out of the door. You should only need a replacement temic unit to solve the problem, that's all I replaced on mine and it worked fine afterwards.
And the loom is clipped to the back of the card - so carefull as you pull it away mate.. spare pair of hands will help !!
There's two t30 under the pull handle that clips off, and one under the flap on the pull lever then under the the flap on the door, to get to this pull the compartment out then pull the door card centre trim part towards you this lifts up on a hinge type thing, you will see the other t30 under that, then there are two 10mm bolts in the bottom of the door, once done, pull the door card up in the vertical direction as it slots into place, you will need to undo the motor 3xt25 I think as this is bolted to the door card Hope this helps slightly
Nice one guys! Some useful info there - ordered the unit listed above, so will crack on and let you know how it goes / ask for more help if I get stuck haha
For all of you heading stright for changing the regulators, check the multiplug in the door first! Might save you some £££ as that was what was wrong with mine
Thanks for your help guys! part arrived today and I now have a closed window again! Tip for anyone else doing this - get someone to help, door card screws etc can be taken off by yourself, but as mentioned by someone earlier, the loom is attached to the card and it's quite awkward to do by yourself. once you've got it off, the Temic takes 1 minute if that to swap over.
There's an ebay number listed on the first page mate, for the TEMIC unit. (£29) my window had stopped completely - was only making a very, very faint click, no other noises. new temic unit seems to have solved it (touch wood)
Thanks mate. Much appreciated. I replaced the passenger last year at great expense and I'd rather try a cheaper option first.
How bigger job is that? Pretty sure I've got the same problem, changed regulator, checked fuse, still nothing.
Open the multiplug up and have a look, not a massive job, few clips and door cars off obviously Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
