Ford Focus Rs mk3

  1. You mean that amateur video on YouTube....... Hardly a conclusive assessment of its abilities.

  2. Fully agree Martin. It does what it's supposed to do, it's fast, a lot of fun, affordable and practical. What's not to like? Styling perhaps but on the whole it's a great car at a great price.

    Less bullshit, more Focus.

I picked mine up Tuesday and I'm over the moon with it.

  4. Hows things Corey,Megane still going well ?

  5. Looks mean in stealth black mate, lovely

I was unsure about black wheels on a black car but it's growing on me, my original plan was to get the wheels painted in the magnetite colour that was available in Europe.

  7. That looks really smart! Really can't wait to get mine now.

You will love it I'm sure. I really can't wait until it's run in and I can give it a good run.

  9. Like I said, so far.

And 8:18 is only BTG, so another 7 secs to add.

  10. Enjoy the cars chaps.

A bit of compensation for all the hype was required and this is a Renault forum, right.

Look at all the vitriolic dialogue regarding the AMG A45 on the Ford RS forums. I've been reserved.

    Compensation, lol.

Yes this is a Renault forum, I actually own one. This is also other automotive brands section, don't like it, GTFO

  12. i don't bother going on other forums when i don't own one of those cars. I've got a Renault tho LOL.

  13. 7 seconds? 7 seconds is roughly the time difference between a genuine full lap and the "Full" timed lap that manufacturers do (the length of the pit lane).

A full lap is about 20-30 seconds longer than BTG as it includes the straight where you'd otherwise have to slow down and leave/stop and start another lap.

Either way, 8:18 isn't bad at all for an amateur driver.

Looks great in black, bet you're very pleased with it! I was really tempted with a grey one, but ultimately decided against it.

  14. Professional nag.

  15. Youre right, I did whip a reasonable amount off due the small bits of traffic on his lap etc

Theres strong viewpoint it won't crack less than 8 min.

  16. are you ranting

  17. Looks good in the black, good choice. Enjoy the car and let us know what it's like once she's run in.

All good here Martin thanks hope you and family are well, the 265 is still highly entertaining, especially with 316bhp

  18. Good to hear, are you doing any trackdays?

  19. I haven't this year as yet, but I'm planning on it in July/august time. Of to the ring with Ed in June to the grantourismo event which should be a laugh. The hire cars we're getting will be in need of a thorough service once we're done

  20. sound fun, take it easy out there! i may be going in June if my car is finally working as it should.

  21. Keep us posted, would be great to catch up!

  22. just had a look at the Granturismo event, looks brilliant if a tad pricey, are you staying with the group in the hotel? i may well put some pennies away for that next year.

  23. How is Ed?, not seen much of him on here of late, im taking the the Focus to him if it ever turns up.

  24. I was lucky enough to go on the press launch in Valencia and do some laps on the circuit over there... greatest fun I've had in a car in a long time!

  25. Don't say that tinfoil, aka 172RS, will be frothing at the mouth in indignation!

  26. Who is 172rs? He definetly posts like that geezer Conley from the old megsport days though.

my car should be here in 3weeks can't wait! Will be good to see if the Mrs can keep up in the megane

  27. He's a bloke without a car that reads car facts and then posts on every forum to get a reaction from normal people, that makes him feel a bit better about his sad little life, LOL

  28. What colour and spec have you gone with?

  29. Basically the exact same as R26 has posted. Black on black. Went and viewed a dealers nitrous blue when the sun was out in its glory the car simply looked stunning in the sun, haven't got a clue what it looks like on a grey dark day though.

was a bit gutted hearing tuning could be off the cards on the mk3 but I'm back to being hopeful that some of the gtr tuners have got a hold of them

I hardly think the likes of SVM would jump on the bandwagon if tuning wasn't an option.

    Good choice by the way!

I'm sure our resident expert will pipe up shortly to tell us we will only have the option of an air filter.

  31. Yeah it's definetly looking good with both svm and Lichfield on board. I understand mountune are good but Jesus some of the prices they charge on tuning the mk2 is wallet hurting

  32. But warranty keeping, which is key (for me anyway)

  33. Was there no feedback from the supplying dealers about a mountune tuning package?

  34. This Sunday I believe mountune are announcing stuff. I completely understand about keeping warranty just wish it wasn't in effect 1500 quid for what would be a stage 1 on other marques

  35. From what I've read Mountune is also gonna provide a front LSD, should be a nice upgrade!

  36. Agree, it is expensive but the piece of mind is worth it for me. Mountune are the only tuner to be supplied with fully instrumented test cars (which they've had for over a year) and have access to all the Ford development information and calibration files etc.

That means they know as much about the car as Ford does. I personally have never tuned a new car (always thought it was too risky), but will be getting a Mountune package at some point in the first year or two of ownership.

  37. Either way wouldn't touch SVM with a barge pole, not unless you want false parts fitting and waste £40k of tuning. That said they need to drum up business with the number of court cases in motion. Live and learn I guess but I'd rather never drive a car again than have one thats had SVM work.

  38. If I do anything to mine it will be Mountune, I know it costs more but it is worth it if something breaks and is going to cost thousands to sort out and you can just give it back to Ford and say fix it.
I probably will not do anything to mine except a exhaust and that would be the mountune one again for the hassle free warranty claims (if needed).

  39.

It needs one? I thought the awd system was complex enough to sort that out itself.

You might not need an exhaust, they're very loud if you've not heard one in person.

All the build up from mountune and they reveal some hoses.

Tinfoil will macaroni his pants over this one. Lol
