Interested in the gearbox but a good 7 hour round trip for me. Are you able to pallet and courier? Alternatively, sell the LSD separately?
I bought the gearbox...6th gear is fucked on it. I only found that out after Mark Black fitted it last Friday - I was gutted as bought it in good faith and asked outright if it was in good order. Turns out it wasn't...
Gotta pay for a rebuild and hope it's the detents and not selector forks that need doing. Mark said something like £400 if it's a fork - more if other stuff needs doing. Then I gotta pay him to take back out my 225 box (again!) and refit the R26 one (again!)
Why dont you just transfer the LSD of the r26 in your 225. Im sue you wont benefit that much from the slight changes in gearing ratios.. Tho I would as a refund (or at least a part refund...) Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
As far as I'm aware, the gear ratios are the same between NDO 000 and NDO 020. The only difference is the GKN LSD. Mark Black actually offered me his car so he could swap the LSD over but I wouldn't be able to give it back for weeks and he's far, far too busy to start stripping boxes right now! Once the R26 box is sorted then maybe I can sell my 225 one for someone who wants to put in a gripper or Quaife. The annoying thing is that Mark had my box refurbed last year as we thought it was an input shaft bearing that was bust. The gearbox guy said that my (then) 120k old box had no wear whatsoever and looked brand new! Shame it was my open diff that is the problem!!
The box you sold me as fully working has now been stripped to find out why 5th/6th wouldn't select to find that both are fucked - now i'm left with a £550 bill to repair it plus the fitting bill from Mark Black (not including the money i've spent so far in having the boxes swapped out twice.)
