Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had changed they're own cambelt and if its relatively straight forward? From what i've seen and read over the years on the f4r engine it's better to let someone experienced do it, its so easy to knock the timing out as theres all sorts of gubbins attached to the engine head.
Is there a step by step guide as to how to do it as I've done a few on pre 92 cars but nothing as new as my 225 trophy. Im handy with the spanners etc but not sure of exact timing tools needed? Cheers
I've done plenty now, always use the tools! I bought mine from Renault dealer and you'll often get trade. It's important to use them as these engines are quite sensitive in terms of timing and only needs to be a nats cock out and they can be down on power. About 130 but it was a few years back, if I get chance I'll do a guide this weekend with a few vital steps and torque settings
